Data Governance and Compliance Lead Expert

About the Role

The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority in Riyadh, Riyadh, is seeking a Data Governance and Compliance Lead Expert. This full-time role involves leading work activities autonomously towards predetermined long-term objectives, often acting as an internal consultant and facilitator. The successful candidate will guide the development of data governance roadmaps and programs to ensure data consistency, security, accuracy, auditability, and documentation.

Role Purpose

This position is responsible for providing guidance in developing and implementing data governance initiatives. Key responsibilities include supervising data governance activities, advising on corrective actions, and identifying improvement areas to minimize data-related issues. The role requires working with minor direction while contributing to the organization's data integrity and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor the latest news, trends, best practices, and international standards in data governance to define necessary updates for policies, standards, and procedures.
• Review National Data Management Office (NDMO) approved standards and policies to recommend updates to ZATCA’s current data guides and ensure continuous adherence to NDMO requirements.
• Manage the implementation of data governance activities across ZATCA’s functions, identifying non-compliant cases and ensuring timely resolution.
• Review functions and duties to allocate access rights to internal stakeholders, ensuring limited information access and data protection.
• Develop and update information controls to protect ZATCA from unauthorized access, breaches, and vulnerabilities.
• Escalate complex problems to the relevant personnel to ensure proper resolution of cases and issues.
• Support junior staff or direct reports in executing their duties according to established policies and processes.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 6 to 10 years of relevant experience is required for this role.
• Demonstrated ability to lead work activities and operate autonomously.
• Proven expertise in developing and implementing data governance roadmaps and programs.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Riyadh. The role involves working independently while contributing to a larger organizational framework focused on data integrity and compliance.
