This is a paid DevOps internship based in Riyadh, structured as a hands-on engineering role with genuine responsibilities. It is designed for strong early-career engineers who aim to develop expertise in infrastructure and platform engineering.

The DevOps Engineering Function

DevOps engineers at Tabby work on the runtime and development platforms that power all product teams. These services operate on large-scale cloud infrastructure and must adhere to strict requirements for reliability, security, and regulatory compliance. Key areas of focus include cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes platforms, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and security foundations.

Internship Responsibilities

As a DevOps intern, you will be embedded into a real DevOps team and work with production systems. Your responsibilities will include:

• Working with cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes-based platforms.
• Assisting in the automation of infrastructure provisioning and configuration.
• Contributing to CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows.
• Helping to improve observability, monitoring, and alerting systems.
• Participating in incident analysis and postmortems.
• Working with infrastructure-as-code and configuration management tools.
• Supporting efforts to enhance the reliability, scalability, and security of systems.
• Reading and understanding existing platform architecture and tooling.

Required Qualifications

Candidates for this internship should possess the following:

• Strong fundamentals in Linux and operating systems.
• Understanding of basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS).
• Basic understanding of cloud platforms and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with containers and Kubernetes concepts.
• Ability to read and understand infrastructure and service configurations.
• Basic scripting or programming skills.
• Experience with Git and standard development workflows.
• Structured thinking and attention to reliability.
• Openness to constructive feedback.

Internship Structure and Environment

This is a paid internship that offers full integration into an engineering team. Tabby operates with a distributed engineering team across multiple countries. The internship is open to Saudi nationals (Saudi passport required), with location flexibility allowing candidates to be based outside KSA. An office-first approach is preferred in Riyadh where possible. Based on performance, there is a clear path to a junior DevOps or platform engineer role.
