About the Role

The Luxury Collection is seeking a Dir Finance C to function as the strategic financial business leader for their property in Ad Diriyah, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role is responsible for championing, developing, and implementing property-wide strategies to deliver products and services that meet or exceed the needs of the brand’s target customer and employees. The position provides financial expertise to ensure successful implementation of brand service strategies and initiatives while maximizing return on investment. This is a contract position requiring 5-10 years of experience.

Strategic Planning and Decision Making

The Dir Finance C will lead strategic financial planning and decision-making processes. This includes developing methods to improve profit, analyzing financial data and market trends, and creating annual budget plans. The role also involves identifying cost-saving and productivity opportunities, implementing appropriate controls to manage business risks, and ensuring a strong accounting and operational control environment.

  • Develop means to improve profit, including estimating cost and benefit and exploring new business opportunities.
  • Analyze information, forecast sales against expenses, and create annual budget plans.
  • Compile, analyze, and monitor actual sales against projected sales.
  • Analyze differences between actual budget wages and forecasted wages for efficient budget planning.
  • Create the annual operating budget for the property.
  • Provide analytical support during budget reviews to identify cost-saving and productivity opportunities.
  • Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive annual business plan aligned with company and brand strategy.
  • Produce accurate forecasts to enable operational adjustments to business changes.

Leadership and Stakeholder Management

This role requires strong leadership to guide finance teams and effective communication to manage key stakeholders. The Dir Finance C will influence the executive team, oversee audit processes, and ensure clear accountability within the finance department. Additionally, the position involves understanding and meeting the needs of owners, corporate, and guests, and advising the General Manager and executive committee on financial issues.

  • Lead, influence, and encourage others through interpersonal and communication skills, advocating sound financial decision-making.
  • Communicate strategic goals, focus, and owner priorities clearly to subordinates.
  • Oversee internal, external, and regulatory audit processes.
  • Conduct annual performance appraisals with direct reports.
  • Attend meetings and communicate with owners, understanding their priorities and strategic focus.
  • Advise the GM and executive committee on existing and evolving operating/financial issues.
  • Manage communication with owners and property working capital and cash flow effectively.

Financial Goal Development and Project Management

The Dir Finance C will be responsible for developing and maintaining financial goals, ensuring accurate documentation and timely reporting. This includes monitoring taxes, improving profit growth, and reviewing audit issues. The role also involves managing projects and policies to ensure compliance with contracts, reporting requirements, and operating procedures.

  • Ensure Profits and Losses are documented accurately.
  • Monitor all applicable taxes, ensuring they are current, collected, and/or accrued.
  • Submit reports in a timely manner, ensuring delivery deadlines.
  • Develop and support the achievement of performance, budget, and team goals.
  • Improve profit growth in operating departments.
  • Generate and provide accurate and timely results in reports and presentations.
  • Reconcile balance sheets to ensure account balances are supported by appropriate documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with management contracts, reporting requirements, and operating procedures.

Human Resources Activities

This position also encompasses managing and conducting human resource activities within the finance department. This includes ensuring proper training, fair policy administration, and employee development.

  • Ensure team members are cross-trained to support successful daily operations.
  • Ensure property policies are administered fairly and consistently.
  • Ensure new hires participate in the department’s orientation program and receive appropriate training.
  • Create appropriate development plans for team members based on their strengths, needs, and aspirations.
  • Conduct performance review processes for employees.
  • Participate in hiring activities as appropriate.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for the Dir Finance C position should possess a strong background in financial leadership and strategic planning. The role requires a proven ability to manage financial operations, lead teams, and engage with stakeholders effectively.

  • 5-10 years of experience in a relevant financial leadership role.
