About BeOnd and the Role

BeOnd, the world's first premium leisure airline operating an all-lie-flat Airbus fleet, is establishing new Air Operator Certificates (AOCs) in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is for a Director of Safety for the Saudi Arabia AOC, which operates under the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA). The role is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Role Overview

The Director of Safety is a required management position under GACAR Part **** This role is responsible for the administration and oversight of the Safety Management System (SMS) across the Saudi AOC. The Director of Safety is appointed by, and reports directly to, the Accountable Executive.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and administer the Safety Management System (SMS) across the Saudi AOC.
• Lead hazard identification, risk management, safety assurance, and a just reporting culture.
• Manage safety performance indicators, the safety review board, and safety promotion.
• Provide independent safety oversight of operations and maintenance activities.
• Interface with GACA on safety matters, audits, and findings.

Qualifications and Mandatory Requirements

Candidates must possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in a relevant field. The successful candidate must be acceptable to GACA (the President) based on their experience, competence, and knowledge, as this is a mandatory management position under GACAR Part **** Mandatory requirements include:

• Serving full-time in the position (GACAR ********
• Qualification through training, experience, and expertise in aviation safety management.
• A full understanding of the GACAR, the operations specifications, applicable airworthiness requirements, and the operations manual; acceptability to GACA (GACAR ******, (g)) is essential.

Desirable Qualifications

• Recognised safety-management qualification and SMS implementation experience.
• AOC stand-up experience.
