About the EHS Engineer Role

Larsen & Toubro is seeking an EHS Engineer to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is suitable for individuals with 0-1 years of experience, offering an opportunity to contribute to the company's health, safety, and environmental initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare all EHS related documents, including EHS plans, emergency response plans, and risk assessments.
  • Attend EHS meetings with clients and project teams, and report EHS-related issues to Head Office.
  • Conduct daily EHS inspections for assigned zones and ensure appropriate safe work permits are obtained.
  • Perform risk assessments, identify high-risk areas, and ensure toolbox talks are delivered weekly to promote EHS awareness.
  • Ensure personnel wear appropriate personal protective equipment and that equipment like ladders and scaffoldings are in good working condition.
  • Maintain satisfactory health and hygiene conditions for workers, including availability of water, rest areas, and adequate lighting & ventilation.
  • Ensure proper housekeeping on project sites to prevent incidents and conduct Job EHS Analysis on high-risk activities.
  • Encourage the implementation of EHS practices and conduct investigations in case of incidents or accidents, communicating results for future precautions.
  • Administer first-aid or seek medical assistance when necessary and maintain all documentation related to EHS activities.
  • Establish, monitor, and appraise integrated health, safety, and environment management systems conforming to ISO-45001:2018, ISO14001:2015, and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Conduct training programs on EHS topics for engineers and workers, and perform hazard identification and risk assessment for critical activities.
  • Coordinate external EHS audits, third-party inspections, and prepare Emergency Preparedness Plans, conducting drills as needed.
  • Facilitate the implementation of the Work Permit System and coordinate for Occupational Health & Welfare measures.
  • Prepare Condition of Contract on EHS for Sub-contractors and stop work if any unsafe practices are witnessed.
  • Carry out monthly Risk Management Audits and quarterly system audits, providing EHS reports to Project Head and IC Head.
