Job Description
About the Role
Nestlé Saudi Arabia is seeking an Electrical & Automation Technician to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time, entry-level position is responsible for providing daily electrical support for the factory, including preventative maintenance and electrical support for capital and extraordinary maintenance projects. The role is designed for individuals with 0-1 years of experience and includes direct mentorship from an experienced E&A Technician to guide onboarding and development.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily electrical support and perform preventative maintenance within the factory.
- Offer electrical support for capital and extraordinary maintenance projects.
- Utilize equipment logs, reports, and data from computerized maintenance systems to track equipment reliability and manage time effectively.
- Perform troubleshooting for problems and ensure proper maintenance of PLC, HMI, and MES applications.
- Maintain industrial applications and hardware within the automation layer.
- Optimize electrical/process control maintenance and operation costs.
- Optimize electrical/process control hardware and software to maintain plant efficiency, safety, and quality.
- Perform daily electrical start-up checklists.
- Work in small teams on equipment removal and installation.
Technical Skills and Expertise
The role requires the ability to learn and apply skills across various electrical and automation technologies, including:
- PLCs: Pico, Micro, CompactLogix, SLC500, ControlLogix, Guardlogix, and PLC-5.
- Servos: Ultra, Kinetix 5500, Kinetix 5700, and other types.
- Networks: Ethernet/IP, Sercos, DH-485, DH+, and Remote I/O.
- Safety Devices: Guard I/O and Safety relays.
- Drives: Schneider, ABB, and SIEMENS.
- Software: RSLinx, Drive Executive, RSLogix5, RSLogix500, RSLogix5000, PanelBuilder32, FactoryTalk View, Asset Centre, BOOTP-DHCP Server, RSNetworx, and all SIEMENS type software.
- Computer Skills: Familiarity with Electrical Software, Outlook, Excel, Word, SAP, Auto CAD, and SharePoint.
- Electrical Testing Devices: Multimeters (AC/DC voltage and amperage, milliamp, millivolt, OHM's, frequency, min/max readings) and Calibration equipment (calibration tester, dry blocks).
Qualifications and Experience
- Associate Degree in an Industrial Electrical technical field, such as Automation Systems Technology or Electrical Industrial.
- Understanding of troubleshooting methodologies.
- Working knowledge of switchboards, Motor Control Centers (MCCs), panel boards, and control cabinets.
- Ability to read and interpret documents including safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Required Competencies
- Communication: Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to interpret and comprehend technical literature and print documentation, and to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent, and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Reasoning Ability: Capacity to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret various instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Personal Attributes: Strong time management skills, self-motivation, and a desire to learn.
Work Environment and Expectations
This role operates within a team-based environment, requiring close coordination with equipment operators, line team leaders, and other maintenance technicians to enhance electrical skills across the team. The technician will maintain liaisons with other departments and disciplines to support capital investment projects and market initiatives. Strict adherence to all plant rules and policies, including safety and GMP regulations, is mandatory, alongside performing good housekeeping practices. Close coordination with functions such as quality, safety, operations, and production, with emphasis on QMS, HAACP, and calibration, is also expected. The position requires strict adherence to PLC and HMI change management policies and procedures, and maintaining the reliability and performance of the FAS IT infrastructure and peer-to-peer networks.
