Emergency Medicine Resident

About the Role

National Medical Care is seeking an Emergency Medicine Resident for a full-time position in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role is responsible for the comprehensive medical care of patients presenting to the Emergency Room, from initial assessment and treatment initiation to safe discharge. The position requires 2-5 years of experience in a relevant medical field.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure high-quality medical treatment, compassion, and understanding for all patients at Care National Hospital.
• Triage patients for medical care based on illness acuity, collaborating with Emergency Room Nurses.
• Perform full patient assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, and routine diagnostic tests.
• Initiate appropriate medical care and treatment within the scope of clinical privileges.
• Manage and stabilize surgical, orthopedic, medical, and pediatric cases presenting to the *
• Refer patients to relevant specialists for consultation, continued specialized care, or admission as needed.
• Document all procedures in accordance with Hospital Rules and Regulations.
• Participate in departmental education and training activities.
• Adhere to the Policies and Procedures of the department and Riyadh Care Hospital.
• Educate patients and families as per their needs, documenting the process in the patient medical record.
• Involve patients and families in the plan of care, respecting their goals and choices.
• Provide health promotion and teaching tailored to the patient's developmental level, learning needs, readiness, language preference, culture, and situation.
• Allocate necessary time to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient education, ensuring proper documentation.
• Perform other applicable tasks and duties assigned within the scope of knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Professional Standards

The Emergency Medicine Resident is expected to maintain a high level of professional performance in adherence to professional medical ethics, CBAHI / JCIA standards, hospital medical by-laws, and the laws of the Ministry of Health in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, along with any other applicable regulations according to the departmental quality plan.

Reporting Structure

This position reports directly to the Head of Department and does not involve supervisory responsibilities.

Internal and External Liaisons

The Emergency Medicine Resident will collaborate with other Emergency Room Physicians, physicians from various medical departments, and staff from Supporting Professional Services to ensure comprehensive patient care.
