Executive Housekeeper

About the Role

Marriott Hotels & Resorts is seeking an Executive Housekeeper for a full-time position in Riyadh. This role is responsible for overseeing the daily shift operations of Housekeeping, Recreation/Health Club, and Laundry services, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and maintenance across guestrooms, public spaces, and employee areas. The Executive Housekeeper will work to ensure guest and employee satisfaction while managing departmental budgets effectively.

Housekeeping Operations Management

This position involves direct supervision of daily housekeeping operations and adherence to established policies and standards. Key responsibilities include:

• Ensuring timely communication of guest room status to the Front Desk.
• Collaborating with the Engineering department on guestroom maintenance needs.
• Supervising the property's general cleaning schedule and preparing work assignments based on room lists.
• Managing inventory to ensure adequate supplies of guestroom amenities, cleaning products, and uniforms.
• Implementing and supervising an effective inspection program for all guestrooms and public spaces.
• Communicating areas requiring attention to staff and ensuring follow-up.
• Ensuring all employees are equipped with proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms.

Departmental Cost Management

The Executive Housekeeper will contribute to the financial management of the department by:

• Participating in the management of controllable expenses to meet or exceed budgeted goals.
• Understanding the impact of departmental operations on overall property financial objectives.
• Utilizing budgets, operating statements, and payroll progress reports for financial oversight.

Ensuring Customer Service Excellence

A core aspect of this role is to foster exceptional guest experiences through:

• Responding to and resolving guest problems and complaints effectively.
• Continuously striving to improve service performance.
• Empowering employees to deliver excellent customer service.
• Emphasizing guest satisfaction and continuous improvement in all departmental meetings.

Human Resources Activities

The role includes various human resources responsibilities to ensure a well-managed and motivated team:

• Participating in the investigation of employee accidents as needed.
• Supervising staffing levels to meet guest service, operational needs, and financial objectives.
• Ensuring employees understand expectations and operational parameters.
• Administering property policies fairly and consistently, and ensuring disciplinary procedures comply with SOPs and LSOPs.
• Providing feedback to employees on service behaviors.
• Utilizing available training tools for new room attendants and providing follow-up training.
• Participating in the employee performance appraisal process.
• Assisting in the interviewing and hiring of team members with appropriate skills.
• Supporting departmental orientation programs for new hires.
• Participating in employee progressive discipline procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 0-1 years of experience in a relevant field. The role requires a proactive individual with strong leadership and organizational skills, capable of maintaining high standards in a dynamic hospitality environment.
