Expert Solution Architect

About the Role

TawanTech is seeking an Expert Solution Architect to join its team in Riyadh, Riyadh Province. This full-time role involves designing complex, end-to-end technology solutions that translate business requirements into scalable, secure, resilient, and integrated architectures. The successful candidate will ensure alignment with enterprise technology strategy and architecture standards.

Role Purpose

The primary purpose of this position is to lead the architectural design for significant business and technology initiatives. This includes defining solution components, interfaces, technology patterns, and integration approaches, particularly within payment flows and platform solutions across various schemes, partners, and core systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end solution architectures for complex business and technology initiatives.
• Translate business requirements into application, integration, data, infrastructure, and security architecture.
• Define solution components, interfaces, technology patterns, and integration approaches.
• Design payment flows and platform solutions across schemes, partners, and core systems.
• Ensure solutions comply with enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, and technology standards.
• Ensure architectures satisfy SAMA regulatory, data residency, and audit requirements.
• Evaluate build-versus-buy options and assess vendor solutions against business and technical requirements.
• Conduct architecture assessments and identify technical risks, dependencies, and constraints.
• Design for high availability, resilience, and disaster recovery in payment-critical systems.
• Review technical designs and implementations for alignment with approved architecture.
• Present and defend solution designs in architecture governance forums.
• Guide engineering teams through solution design and implementation across multiple squads.
• Support modernization, scalability, resilience, and technology optimization initiatives.
• Maintain architecture documentation, solution diagrams, and records of technical decisions.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field; Master’s preferred.
• 5-10 years of experience in software engineering and architecture, including end-to-end solution ownership.
• Strong breadth across application, integration, data, cloud, and security architecture.
• Hands-on background as a senior engineer prior to moving into architecture.
• Payments or banking experience, with knowledge of card schemes, ISO 8583/20022, and national payment rails.
• Professional Certificates (TOGAF or equivalent architecture certification preferred).
