The Role of Field Architect

Azure is seeking an experienced Field Architect to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time role requires strong hands-on experience in residential construction and interior design execution. The Field Architect will serve as the crucial link between the Design Team and the Contractor, ensuring the correct on-site execution of architectural and interior designs. This involves early identification of issues and the provision of practical solutions to maintain design integrity throughout the construction process.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor the on-site execution of architectural and interior designs.
• Ensure construction adheres to approved drawings, specifications, materials, and design intent.
• Coordinate directly with contractors and subcontractors.
• Review architectural and interior shop drawings and technical submittals.
• Read and coordinate architectural, interior, structural, and MEP drawings.
• Verify site dimensions and existing conditions prior to execution or fabrication.
• Review Bills of Quantities (BOQs), quantities, scope gaps, and variations.
• Inspect materials, finishes, joinery, kitchens, wardrobes, bathrooms, ceilings, flooring, and other interior fit-out works.
• Identify construction, design, and coordination issues proactively.
• Investigate site problems and provide practical, buildable solutions to the Design Team.
• Coordinate approved solutions with the contractor and oversee their implementation to completion.
• Maintain design quality and protect the approved design intent during construction.
• Prepare site observations, issue logs, photographs, and snagging reports.
• Support final inspections, snagging, and handover processes.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess 5-10 years of experience and must be comfortable working on site, engaging directly with contractors, interpreting drawings, checking BOQs and shop drawings, and taking ownership of issues through to resolution. This role requires a problem solver with a strong understanding of both architecture and interior design execution. The ability to assess a site, understand drawings, identify discrepancies, communicate effectively with contractors, develop solutions, and ensure correct execution is essential.
