Janikin Energy is supporting a major organization in Saudi Arabia with the urgent appointment of an experienced Field Compliance Coordinator. This full-time role is based on-site in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and is critical for ensuring safety and compliance across a large-scale oil and gas construction project.

The Role of Field Compliance Coordinator

The Field Compliance Coordinator will provide essential construction safety and HSE coordination. This position involves monitoring construction activities, conducting compliance inspections, and verifying that all employees, contractors, and vendors adhere to approved safety procedures, regulatory requirements, and recognized industry standards. The successful candidate will be a proactive safety professional with a strong background in major oil and gas construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular construction site safety inspections and compliance audits.
  • Monitor contractor and subcontractor compliance with approved HSE plans and procedures.
  • Verify the effective implementation of Permit-to-Work systems.
  • Monitor high-risk activities, including confined-space entry, lifting operations, excavation, and working at height.
  • Review and monitor Lockout/Tagout procedures and energy-isolation activities.
  • Assess Safe Work Practices, Job Safety Analyses, and hazard-control measures.
  • Support Process Safety Management and Process Hazard Analysis activities.
  • Participate in HAZOP, risk assessment, and Bowtie Analysis activities where required.
  • Conduct incident and near-miss investigations and support root-cause analysis.
  • Track safety observations, non-conformances, and corrective actions through to closure.
  • Develop and deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and specialist training.
  • Support emergency preparedness, drills, and response planning.
  • Prepare safety reports, inspection findings, and compliance documentation.
  • Liaise with project management, construction teams, contractors, and other stakeholders to maintain high HSE standards.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Engineering, Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Safety, or a related discipline.
  • NEBOSH International General Certificate, IOSH qualification, or an equivalent internationally recognized safety certification.
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional safety or HSE experience.
  • At least 7 years of experience supporting major oil and gas construction projects.

Essential Skills and Attributes

  • Strong construction safety and field-compliance background.
  • In-depth knowledge of Permit-to-Work (PTW), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and confined-space procedures.
  • Good understanding of HAZOP, Bowtie Analysis, Process Safety Management, and Safety Management Systems.
  • Proven experience conducting incident investigations and root-cause analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of hazard identification, risk assessment, and control measures.
  • Experience monitoring contractors on major or mega construction projects.
  • Strong reporting, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Ability to work confidently and directly with construction teams and contractors in a demanding project environment.
  • Comfortable challenging unsafe practices, communicating with senior stakeholders, and ensuring prompt and effective implementation of corrective actions.

Work Environment

This role requires willingness and availability to work on-site in Saudi Arabia, supporting a large-scale oil and gas project.
