About the Role

Alfanar is seeking a Financial Controller to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is responsible for overseeing financial planning, analysis, and management within a specific division. The role ensures financial activities align with the organization's overall financial strategy, providing critical insights and guidance for strategic decision-making and operational efficiency.

Key Financial Responsibilities

  • Develop financial strategies that support business growth and sustainability.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes.
  • Monitor key financial metrics and business performance, analyzing variances and recommending actions to improve margins and cost efficiency.
  • Provide financial insights for pricing, investments, and operational decisions, including building business cases and conducting scenario modeling.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives, ensuring optimal allocation of financial resources across business units.
  • Deliver accurate and timely financial reports to leadership, translating complex data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Transform corporate goals into business plans and monitor plan performance, initiating corrective actions as needed.
  • Monitor and control budgets and expenses to achieve optimum cost efficiency.

Leadership and Operational Accountabilities

  • Recruit, recognize, and cultivate high performers, developing a robust second line of management.
  • Recognize low performers and provide guidance for improvement or manage their release.
  • Ensure fair and non-discriminatory treatment of subordinates, with assessment criteria based on performance and planned results.
  • Maintain a delegation of authority matrix in line with company policy.
  • Take full responsibility for operations as per the job description and deliverables, adhering to company guidelines.
  • Anticipate problems and take proactive steps to prevent them, making necessary and timely decisions.
  • Deliver required results in a timely manner, meeting specified quality and cost standards.
  • Make a tangible difference to the area of operation, exceeding business expectations.
  • Develop the organizational structure according to current and future requirements, ensuring job descriptions are available for all roles.
  • Develop and coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, and procedures, seeking automation opportunities and promoting the use of IT solutions.

Governance and Quality Standards

  • Maintain strong internal controls and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate with audit, tax, and legal teams to manage financial risks effectively.
  • Act in accordance with quality as Alfanar’s prime competitive advantage.
  • Adapt to new and alternative techniques, technologies, management structures, and business models.
  • Ensure a safe, secure, and legal work environment in adherence to standard regulations.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in financial planning, analysis, and management. Strong analytical skills, leadership capabilities, and a proven track record in strategic financial oversight are essential. Proficiency in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance is required for this role.
