Food and Beverage Assistant Manager

About the Role

IHG Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Food and Beverage Assistant Manager to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves overseeing daily food and beverage operations, ensuring high standards of service, and contributing to financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily activities, plan, and assign work to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
• Develop and improve team performance through coaching, feedback, and setting performance goals.
• Train colleagues to ensure compliance and adherence to established standards.
• Recommend or initiate HR-related actions as needed.
• Ensure all food and beverage equipment is operational and regularly cleaned.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper stocking of all food and beverage facilities, including banquet/convention spaces, according to anticipated business volume.
• Notify engineering promptly of any maintenance or repair requirements.
• Establish and achieve quality and guest satisfaction goals, addressing guest requests and complaints to maintain high satisfaction levels.

Operational and Financial Management

• Manage hotel food and beverage marketing programs and participate in system-wide initiatives.
• Monitor competitor activity and industry innovations.
• Review and approve menu designs and concepts in collaboration with the Executive Chef.
• Ensure the security and safe storage of food and beverages, maintaining stock levels to minimize waste.
• Handle food and beverage inventory procedures, determining minimum and maximum stock levels for all items.
• Assist in preparing the hotel’s annual budget and departmental goal setting.
• Monitor budget and control expenses, focusing on food, beverage, and labor costs.
• Collaborate with the catering office to identify additional sales opportunities and enhance revenue.
• Drive promotions that offer value and positive dining experiences for guests.
• Ensure secure handling of credit and financial transactions.
• Perform other ad-hoc duties as required.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in food and beverage management. The role requires a professional who can manage daily operations, lead a team, and contribute to financial and guest satisfaction goals.
