General Ledger Accountant

About the Role

Alfanar is seeking a General Ledger Accountant to join their team in Riyadh, Riyadh. This full-time role involves supporting daily accounting operations by recording recoveries, processing journal entries, and performing reconciliations to ensure accurate and up-to-date financial records across various departments. The position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and record various recoveries, including recruitment expenses, IT-related costs, Request for Proposals (RFCs), accrued bonuses, Central Treasury recoveries, restaurant-related expenses, 10% recovery allocations, and EAMAR depreciation charges.
• Prepare and enter records for dependent fees (active & inactive) and Iqama fees (active & inactive) to support daily accounting and operations.
• Post journal entries for GL entries from divisions, internal division entries, exit re-entry settlements, Iqama & dependent settlements, sponsorship settlements, and profession change/engineering association fees.
• Assist with visa-related entries and perform visa reconciliations and travel invoice entries.
• Conduct daily and monthly reconciliations, including daily transaction checks, daily and monthly bank reconciliations, and bank deposit confirmations (Ceramic – HO).
• Coordinate with other divisions for account matching and reconciliation purposes.

Accountabilities and Expectations

• Maintain proficiency in HR-related accounting tasks and continuously update soft and technical skills relevant to the job.
• Perform planned activities to meet operational and development targets according to established delivery schedules.
• Utilize resources effectively to achieve objectives within efficient cost and time parameters.
• Provide periodic reports detailing deviations and execution of planned tasks.
• Address and resolve operational problems, escalating complex issues as necessary.
• Ensure adherence to quality requirements for developing effective quality control and processes, including specifications for products, processes, or related activities.
• Coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, and procedures, seeking automation opportunities where possible to improve business processes.
• Comply with all relevant policies, procedures, and work instructions.
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures and controls within the defined area of work activity.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a general ledger or similar accounting role.
• Demonstrated ability to perform reconciliations and process journal entries accurately.
• Experience with various recovery processes and financial record management.
