About the Role

AMAD Hospital in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is seeking a dedicated and experienced General Practitioner to join our full-time medical team. This role involves leading and supervising the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care, focusing on the effective and efficient diagnosis, management, and treatment of all patients. The General Practitioner is expected to exemplify clinical excellence within their specialty and provide leadership and training for junior medical staff.

Key Responsibilities

The General Practitioner will be responsible for a comprehensive range of duties, including both clinical practice and administrative support:

  • Support and implement AMAD Hospital’s departmental and divisional initiatives, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation in medical records to accurately reflect patient diagnosis and treatment, facilitating good clinical practice and optimal billing.
  • Provide general accountability for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of common health problems.
  • Deliver best-in-class medical services for inpatients, offering holistic medical management based on best evidence medicine practice.
  • Direct nurses in procedures for preoperative and postoperative care, including administering sedatives, prescribing diets, and preparing operative areas.
  • Examine patients, determine necessary X-ray examinations and clinical laboratory tests, and interpret diagnostic results to establish diagnoses.
  • Administer and prescribe conservative treatment measures such as antibiotics, drugs, and compresses.
  • Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients and their families.
  • Monitor patient conditions and progress, re-evaluating treatments as necessary.
  • Collect, record, and maintain patient information, including medical history reports and examination results.
  • Refer patients to medical specialists or other practitioners when appropriate.
  • Perform on-call duties outside of scheduled working hours.
  • Undertake additional tasks and duties as assigned, within the scope of individual knowledge, skills, and abilities.

  • Facilitate effective cross-functional communication to optimize patient care.

  • Promote and assist in the instruction, guidance, and supervision of junior medical staff.
  • Facilitate the provision of essential training relevant to clinical staff in the specialty.
  • Demonstrate commitment to Continued Medical Education (CME).
  • Promote and participate in clinical research and publication.
  • Stay informed of current, relevant literature and the latest trends and technologies in the industry.

Candidate Profile
