Job Description

About Sanabil Studio and TradePay

Sanabil Studio operates as a venture builder, combining industry knowledge, technology, and startup methodologies to develop new businesses. One such venture is TradePay, which focuses on building trade finance infrastructure for the FMCG sector in Saudi Arabia. TradePay aims to provide structured, data-driven working capital to small merchants, replacing informal supplier credit, mitigating credit risk for suppliers, and strengthening the overall FMCG supply chain. The model leverages supplier, distributor, and marketplace data to facilitate embedded B2B BNPL experiences within FMCG ecosystems, establishing a credit system based on real transaction behavior rather than traditional balance sheets.

The Role of Head of Data & Credit Analytics

TradePay is seeking a Head of Data & Credit Analytics to establish and lead its decision science, fraud, and portfolio analytics functions. This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and reports directly to the Founder. The role requires 5-10 years of experience in relevant fields.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage TradePay's merchant scoring and decisioning frameworks.
  • Create underwriting, fraud detection, and portfolio monitoring models using supplier, marketplace, and behavioral data.
  • Design and optimize credit limit allocation, utilization logic, pricing models, and repayment segmentation.
  • Build analytical frameworks for SKU velocity, merchant behavior, repayment patterns, and transaction frequency.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to integrate real-time decisioning into operational systems and APIs.
  • Develop fraud detection logic and merchant anomaly monitoring systems.
  • Construct dashboards, portfolio reporting, and early warning indicators for operational and executive teams.
  • Design experiments and analytical tests to optimize approval rates, utilization, repayment behavior, and portfolio health.
  • Define and manage data pipelines, data quality standards, and analytical governance.
  • Support the future AI/ML evolution of TradePay's underwriting and risk engine.
  • Recruit and lead future data science and analytics team members.

Performance Metrics

Success in this role will be evaluated based on model accuracy and approval rates, portfolio performance and repayment quality, fraud detection effectiveness, the speed and reliability of real-time decisioning, and the robustness of the analytical foundations as TradePay expands.

Career Progression

This position offers a clear career path to Chief Data Officer as TradePay scales its underwriting and risk engine across the region.

Work Environment and Benefits

The Head of Data & Credit Analytics will have direct ownership of the underwriting and analytics engine, impacting every credit decision, fraud check, and portfolio insight. The role offers direct influence on portfolio performance, profitability, and product strategy. Benefits include competitive compensation, meaningful equity aligned with long-term value creation, access to real-world FMCG transaction data at scale, premium equipment from day one, and direct mentorship from the Founder and leadership team. The hiring process involves an introductory recruiter conversation, a Founder interview, a technical case study and analytical exercise, followed by reference checks and an offer.
