The Health Safety Environment Officer Role

Sama Construction & Contracting is seeking a dedicated Health Safety Environment Officer to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time position involves overseeing daily health, safety, and environmental operations directly on project sites. The Officer will be instrumental in enforcing safety protocols, conducting inspections, and ensuring strict compliance with HSE regulations across large-scale infrastructure and mass earthworks projects to maintain a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily HSE site inspections and deliver toolbox talks for site personnel and machinery operators.
• Monitor heavy equipment operations, excavation stability, mass filling activities, and site traffic flow to proactively prevent accidents and hazards.
• Enforce the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and ensure strict adherence to Job Safety Analyses (JSA) and Risk Assessments.
• Identify unsafe conditions or practices, intervene to stop hazardous works when necessary, and implement immediate corrective actions.
• Assist in incident investigations, accurately report safety violations, and maintain daily HSE logs and inspection reports.

Qualifications and Experience

• 0-1 years of experience in a Health, Safety, and Environment role, preferably within construction or heavy civil projects.
• Demonstrated understanding of HSE regulations and best practices.
• Ability to conduct site inspections and deliver safety briefings effectively.
• Strong observational skills and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, requiring consistent on-site presence to manage and monitor HSE operations across various project locations.
