About the EHS Officer Role

L & T Case Equipment Private Limited is seeking an experienced EHS Officer to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position requires a professional dedicated to ensuring robust environmental, health, and safety standards are maintained across project sites. The role involves comprehensive documentation management, compliance monitoring, and proactive safety implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage all EHS-related documentation, including EHS plans, emergency response plans, and risk assessments.
• Attend EHS meetings with clients and project teams, and report EHS issues to Head Office.
• Conduct daily EHS inspections for assigned zones and perform Job EHS Analysis for high-risk activities.
• Ensure engineers and supervisors obtain appropriate safe work permits from clients or main contractors.
• Conduct risk assessments across the site and communicate high-risk areas to relevant parties.
• Oversee the proper delivery of weekly toolbox talks by engineers to promote EHS awareness.
• Verify that all personnel are using required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Ensure equipment such as ladders and scaffoldings are in good working condition before use.
• Maintain satisfactory health and hygiene conditions for workers, including access to water, rest areas, and adequate lighting and ventilation.
• Promote proper housekeeping on project sites to prevent incidents and accidents.
• Encourage the implementation of EHS practices among workers and engineers.
• Conduct investigations with engineers in the event of minor or major incidents/accidents and communicate findings for future precautions.
• Administer first-aid or seek medical assistance for injured workers.
• Maintain all documentation related to EHS activities.

Integrated Management System and Training

This role is responsible for establishing, monitoring, and appraising an integrated health, safety, and environment management system, aligning with ISO-45001:2018, ISO14001:2015, and ISO 9001 standards for construction projects. This includes improvising procedure manuals and conducting internal audits. Additionally, the EHS Officer will conduct EHS training programs for engineers and workers on-site and coordinate with HR for broader EHS training initiatives.

Risk Management and Compliance

• Perform hazard identification and risk assessment for critical activities, ensuring method statements incorporate findings.
• Coordinate external EHS audits and third-party inspections of equipment.
• Prepare the Emergency Preparedness Plan and conduct emergency drills.
• Facilitate the implementation of the work permit system and coordinate occupational health and welfare measures.
• Prepare EHS conditions of contract for subcontractors.
• Have the authority to stop work if unsafe practices are witnessed and promote a commitment to action.
• Conduct monthly projects Risk Management Audits and quarterly system audits.
• Provide EHS reports to the Project Head and IC Head regarding the current status of EHS performance.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess 5-8 years of relevant experience in an EHS role. A strong understanding of EHS management systems, risk assessment methodologies, and relevant international standards is essential. Experience in construction project environments is required.
