Home Healthcare Driver

About the Role

AMAD Hospital is seeking a Home Healthcare Driver to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves ensuring the safe and timely transportation of the Home Healthcare (HHC) clinical team, along with approved equipment and supplies, to and from scheduled home visits during approved HHC operating hours. The driver will also support other hospital transportation needs under Operations/FMS when not engaged in HHC activities, provided these do not conflict with or delay HHC services.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily transportation schedules based on approved HHC visit schedules.
• Maintain accurate trip logs, mileage records, and vehicle checklists.
• Report delays, incidents, or scheduling conflicts promptly to the direct supervisor.
• Communicate schedule changes or urgent visit requests with the HHC/operational team and confirm with the direct supervisor.
• Submit completed trip logs and vehicle checklists within the assigned timeframe.
• Report vehicle defects and maintenance needs, and document incidents through the organization's reporting system.
• Ensure all records are complete, legible, and handled in line with confidentiality and organizational policies.
• Transport the HHC clinical team, equipment, and supplies safely to and from patients' homes, adhering to approved HHC operating hours.
• Operate hospital vehicles in compliance with traffic laws, perform pre- and post-trip inspections, and report mechanical issues promptly.
• Support other hospital transportation needs (*, new staff administrative requirements) when no HHC visits are scheduled, ensuring HHC visits remain the priority.
• Keep the vehicle clean and disinfected according to the organization's infection-control policy.
• Apply hand hygiene, use personal protective equipment (PPE) when required, and follow standard infection-control precautions.
• Follow safe driving practices, including defensive driving, seat belt use, observing speed limits, and no mobile phone use while driving.
• Ensure required safety equipment (first-aid kit, fire extinguisher, warning triangle) is available and functional.
• Follow planned routes and navigation tools to arrive at patients' homes on time, avoiding unauthorized stops or detours.
• Respond to emergencies (accident, vehicle breakdown, patient or staff emergency) according to organizational procedures.
• Be responsible for any violations resulting from misuse of the vehicle and/or equipment, and refrain from using the vehicle for personal purposes.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality and respect patient rights.
• Perform other applicable tasks and duties within the scope of knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Qualifications and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Saudi driving license.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a driver, preferably within a healthcare or hospital setting.
• Flexibility to support other FMS/Operations transportation duties when not engaged in scheduled HHC visits, ensuring no delay or conflict with scheduled HHC visits.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, primarily supporting the Home Healthcare clinical team with transportation needs and assisting with other hospital transportation requirements as necessary.
