About the Hostess Role

IHG Hotels & Resorts is seeking a dedicated and professional Hostess to join the team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is open exclusively to Saudi nationals. The role supports the vision of InterContinental Riyadh, focusing on helping guests reconnect with themselves, others, and the world, while upholding values of local sensitivity, global sensibility, crafted experiences, emotional hospitality, responsibility, care, and pioneering wellness. The Hostess will also contribute to the core pillars of sustainability, wellness, and out-of-the-ordinary guest experiences, particularly within the Six Senses brand initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet guests upon arrival and manage welcome and check-in procedures efficiently and courteously, utilizing guest names when appropriate.
• Answer outlet telephone calls professionally and effectively, adhering to departmental standards.
• Escort guests to their tables, assist with seating, and present menus.
• Ensure all guests are served face towels as per service standards.
• Recommend and promote specific items as directed by the supervisor.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of menu prices and actively suggest upsells when suitable.
• Adhere to high standards of personal appearance, grooming, and hygiene.
• Understand and strictly follow all safety, security, and emergency procedures relevant to the position, in line with brand and statutory requirements.
• Ensure all departmental equipment is kept clean and in optimal working condition.
• Participate in required meetings and training sessions.
• Maintain strict adherence to LQA (Luxury Quality Assurance) standards.

Qualifications and Experience

• A hospitality diploma or degree from a recognized hospitality or Barista school.
• More than one year of experience in a similar operational role within luxury hotels, with a proven track record.
• Proficiency in Advanced MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Familiarity with various hotel systems, such as MICROS/point-of-sale platforms.
• Knowledge of hotel/resort policies regarding discounts and food promotions.

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for guest interaction and telephone etiquette.
• Ability to recommend and upsell items effectively.
• Understanding of Food and Beverage terminology, application, and operation.
• Knowledge of wine service, cost control, menu development, and food hygiene codes.
• Familiarity with inventory control procedures.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of service and presentation.

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, within a luxury hotel setting. The role requires active participation in upholding brand standards and contributing to a guest-focused environment.
