About the Internship

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking Information Technology/Computer Hardware Interns to join our growing team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This 12-week, full-time internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in data center operations and may serve as a pathway to future full-time employment. Interns who demonstrate strong performance may be considered for a Data Center Technician role, contingent upon available openings and business needs.

Internship Focus and Eligibility

This internship focuses on hardware and network diagnostics, followed by physical repair. We are looking for candidates who are either recent graduates (by early 2025) or final-year students (graduating in 2026) in Information Technology, Computer Hardware Repair, or a related technical field. Successful completion of the 12-week program may lead to a full-time transition, with specific timelines dependent on graduation dates and business requirements. Internship start dates are flexible between April and October 2026.

Role Responsibilities

Interns will provide infrastructure-related support to the internal workforce, addressing hardware issues (*, Motherboard, RAM, CPU, GPU) and network tickets (*, Link Down, Optics Replacements, Switch Replacements). Responsibilities include:

• Troubleshooting server hardware under the supervision of AWS technicians.
• Understanding and meeting Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for assigned trouble tickets.
• Assisting with network troubleshooting processes.
• Replacing storage media (SSD/HDD) as per AWS Data Tech guidance.
• Performing routine server hardware repairs under guidance.
• Interacting with third-party vendors and contractors on-site.
• Learning equipment installation, documentation creation, and problem-solving within the data center environment.

Internship Structure and Development

This is a full-time (40 hours/week) internship lasting 12 consecutive weeks, requiring daily on-site reporting. Typical schedules are day shifts, Sunday to Thursday, from 9 am to 5 pm. The program emphasizes knowledge sharing and mentorship, with projects assigned to leverage and develop intern skillsets. Successful interns may transition to full-time Data Center Technician roles, which operate on a rotating shift pattern including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations. Candidates should be prepared for shift work upon full-time transition.

Required Skills and Attributes

Success in this role requires strong work prioritization, organizational skills, effective communication, and the ability to react quickly. Interns will gain exposure to both independent work and team collaboration. A foundational understanding of hardware and network diagnostics is beneficial.
