Instrumentation Lead Engineer

About the Role

Larsen & Toubro is seeking an Instrumentation Lead Engineer to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position requires a professional with over 10 years of experience, capable of leading engineering activities for instrumentation and automation in Solar PV Power Plants. The role involves reviewing and executing engineering tasks, facilitating BIM 3D model development, and coordinating with various departments.

Role Overview

As the Design Lead (Instrumentation), you will be responsible for the full cycle of engineering works, from pre-bid engineering to commissioning support and warranty periods. This includes providing support to the site team and managing a team of Design Engineers and Draughts Persons to ensure timely delivery, adherence to budget, and high-quality engineering standards for Solar PV Power Plants.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure timely delivery of engineering drawings and documents, aligning with project schedules.
• Review drawings by Design Engineers and Draughts Persons, including checking design and sizing calculations for engineering electrical equipment and obtaining client approvals.
• Review vendor deliverables pertaining to engineering.
• Manage multiple tasks and deliver various outputs on time.
• Estimate and plan man-hour requirements for projects.
• Review Bill of Quantities (BOQ), submit to the contracts team, and provide technical clarifications.
• Coordinate with multiple disciplines to ensure inter-departmental checks.
• Provide support and clarifications to the Site Execution team.
• Check pre-award evaluation of vendors against client technical specifications and forward validation documents to Supply Chain Management.
• Inspect equipment from finalized vendors after submission of validation documents.
• Clarify design and client requirement issues to the Site Execution Team.
• Collect project details from clients and the Project Engineering Manager.
• Coordinate with the Operations team and inform design specifications for approval.
• Collect inputs for project details, including General Arrangement Drawings, from vendors.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in instrumentation and automation engineering, preferably within Solar PV Power Plants.
• Demonstrated capability in reviewing and executing engineering activities.
• Experience in facilitating BIM 3D model development.
• Proven ability to coordinate with various engineering departments.
• Experience in leading a team of design engineers and draughts persons.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh. The role involves working within a project-driven environment, requiring coordination across multiple disciplines and providing support to site execution teams.
