Interior Design Inspector

About the Role

DSA is seeking an Interior Design Inspector to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time role requires over 10 years of experience and involves acting as the Lead Consultant’s representative for all interior works, ensuring compliance with design intent, specifications, and quality standards. The Interior Design Inspector will work closely with the Senior ID Site Architect and DSA Project Lead.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all inspection activities for interior design works, adhering to contract, specifications, and QA/QC procedures.
• Coordinate with the Senior ID Site Architect and sub-consultant staff for joint inspections.
• Guide the inspection team, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and compliance with quality standards.
• Implement company and project work procedures for assigned duties.
• Review contract requirements relevant to site supervision and obtain project procedures, proformas, and templates.
• Verify contractor’s set-out points, review site condition surveys, and coordinate with the contractor’s Health & Safety plan.
• Review and approve contractor and subcontractor QA/QC manuals, ITPs, and method statements.
• Manage and track drawings, documents, and correspondence using specified document control systems.
• Maintain a complete and current set of ID site documentation.
• Establish ID inspection criteria and quality benchmarks using approved specifications and mock-ups.
• Lead ID inspections for works in progress, materials, and mock-ups, and maintain inspection records.
• Attend and participate in QA/QC meetings, contractor progress meetings, and snagging/de-snagging sessions.
• Coordinate with contractors and sub-consultants to resolve ID-related site issues.
• Maintain a daily diary and prepare inspection logs, snagging schedules, and progress records.
• Assist with final inspections, snagging, and de-snagging for project close-out.
• Review as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and taking-over certificate documentation.
• Receive, review, and respond to contractor RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings.
• Issue and manage Consultant Site Observations (CSOs) and Non-Conformance Notices (NCNs).

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in interior design inspection or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to monitor, inspect, and report on interior finishes and fit-out.
• Proficiency in ensuring compliance with design intent, project specifications, and quality standards.
• Experience in coordinating with contractors and subcontractors.

Skills and Abilities

• Strong understanding of construction contracts, project specifications, and QA/QC procedures.
• Ability to review and approve technical documentation such as QA/QC manuals, ITPs, and method statements.
• Proficiency in using document control systems (*, Aconex, SNAGR, FORPROJECTS).
• Excellent communication and coordination skills to resolve site issues.
• Detail-oriented with strong record-keeping and reporting abilities.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh. The role involves working closely with a project team, including senior architects and sub-consultants, and requires active participation in various project meetings and site inspections.

Administrative Requirements

• Submit monthly timesheets and adhere to leave notification procedures.
• Maintain updated contact details and emergency information.
• Regularly meet with the line manager to review performance and clarify work instructions.
