Role Overview

Tangent International is seeking an experienced IP/IMS Engineer to join a major telecommunications project in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a 12-month contract position focused on providing Technical Authority across the IMS domain. The role involves supporting design, delivery, and operational activities to ensure IMS solutions are scalable, secure, highly available, and aligned with established technical standards and best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide Technical Authority across the IMS domain.
  • Own solution governance for IMS architectures, configurations, and network changes.
  • Review and guide IMS designs, upgrades, and integrations.
  • Support Core IMS, SBC, TAS, HSS/UDM, and PCRF/PCF environments.
  • Assess technical risks and service impacts associated with network changes.
  • Act as a senior escalation point for complex IMS issues and performance degradation.
  • Conduct design reviews and change impact assessments.
  • Perform failure root-cause analysis.
  • Ensure IMS solutions meet availability, scalability, security, and SLA requirements.
  • Work closely with vendors, Network Delivery, Operations, and SNOC teams.
  • Translate business and service requirements into robust technical solutions.

Technical Authority and Domain Expertise

This position requires a senior technical professional capable of operating within a complex IMS environment. The role combines hands-on technical expertise with responsibilities in architecture, solution governance, and overall Technical Authority, ensuring the integrity and performance of critical telecommunications infrastructure.

Solution Governance and Assurance

A core aspect of this role involves establishing and maintaining solution governance across IMS architectures. This includes overseeing configurations and network changes, conducting thorough design reviews, and performing impact assessments to mitigate technical risks and potential service disruptions.

Collaboration and Project Context

The IP/IMS Engineer will collaborate extensively with various stakeholders, including external vendors and internal teams such as Network Delivery, Operations, and SNOC. This collaborative approach is essential for supporting the ongoing development and maintenance of IMS solutions within a large-scale telecommunications project.
