The Role of Lead Expediting
Wood is seeking a Lead Expediting professional to join our project team in Saudi Arabia. This full-time, site-based role supports a strategic gold mine and processing facility. The initial assignment will be based in our Riyadh office before mobilization to the project site. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of all purchased equipment and materials, coordinating closely with suppliers, logistics teams, and project stakeholders to maintain the overall project schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive expediting plans and reports to track progress.
- Monitor the manufacturing progress of vendors to ensure adherence to schedules.
- Coordinate Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), inspections, and confirm shipment readiness.
- Proactively address potential delays and escalate issues as necessary to mitigate impact on project timelines.
Required Experience
Candidates for this position should possess 5 to 10 years of experience in expediting or a related field, preferably within large-scale industrial projects or the energy and materials sectors. This experience should demonstrate a proven ability to manage complex supply chains and ensure material delivery within project constraints.
Work Environment and Location
This is a long-term, full-time position primarily based at the project site in Saudi Arabia. The role requires an initial period of assignment within Wood's Riyadh office before transitioning to the operational site. The work environment demands strong coordination skills and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders in a dynamic project setting.
