About CEER and the Role

CEER's Lighting Centre is focused on developing iconic lighting solutions for a new Saudi automotive brand. This involves combining advanced optics, robust electronics, and design craftsmanship to deliver world-class exterior and interior lighting. As a Lead Specialist, Exterior Lighting Center, you will assume end-to-end ownership of a specific lighting commodity, managing its entire lifecycle from concept through design, development, simulation, tooling, DV/PV testing, and launch. This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and requires 5-10 years of relevant experience.

Core Responsibilities

The Lead Specialist is directly accountable for the timing, quality, and cost of assigned lighting commodities. This includes hands-on issue resolution conducted both on-site in Riyadh and at supplier locations. The role involves rotating ownership across various lamp types, such as front, rear, interior, and auxiliary lamps, as programs progress.

Technical Development and Compliance

• Act as the primary knowledge holder for key commodities (*, headlamps or rearlamps), ensuring seamless integration with the vehicle's electrical and mechanical architecture.
• Collaborate closely with Vehicle Architecture and Design teams to advise on the feasibility of design proposals, enabling viable concepts with class-leading aesthetics.
• Translate styling and brand intent into DSR/SER, ICDs, BOM, and DVP&R, maintaining traceability of requirements through every iteration.
• Ensure the soundness of DFM, optics and photometry targets, thermal paths, sealing/venting, EMC/ESD, and tolerance stacks, planning and assessing simulations before committing to tooling.
• Support UN/ECE, FMVSS, and GSO approvals, ensuring correct type-approval allocation and e-mark / DOT / GSO markings and labels, and maintaining compliance with relevant market legislation.
• Manage Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), deviations/concessions, and releases within PLM systems (Teamcenter/TLM), producing supporting documentation such as DFMEA, DVP, Engineering Release, Concern Resolution, and sign-off reports.

Project and Supplier Management

• Build and manage integrated project plans, including gateways and critical paths, conducting risk reviews, and driving recovery actions when necessary.
• Develop commodity timing plans that support AMPCS milestone actions.
• Maintain ClickUp / open-issues lists, conduct daily and weekly triage, and provide concise status updates and go/no-go decisions.
• Manage Tier-1 and Tier-2 suppliers, overseeing Statement of Work (SOW)/Request for Quotation (RFQ), design reviews, and tooling kick-offs.
• Manage the commodity CAD package through supplier reviews to ensure a robust virtual build process.
• Track tool design, T1/T2/T3 samples, mold-flow actions, process windows, and readiness for DV/PV builds.
• Support prototype, non-saleable, saleable, and pre-series builds, line trials, and work instructions, then facilitate handover to plant and Aftersales.
• Investigate, contain, and resolve issues as they arise throughout the product lifecycle.

Work Environment and Travel

This role is primarily on-site in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It requires frequent international travel to China, with periods of working directly from supplier sites to ensure timing adherence and facilitate issue resolution. While traveling, remote coordination with wider teams and labs will be necessary.

Future Programs and Collaboration

The Lead Specialist will track technology trends and generate system proposals for future programs. This position also involves providing technical assistance to Purchasing in defining commodity strategy, as well as supporting TVM, Current Vehicle Engineering, Purchasing, and Production throughout the product's life cycle.
