Life Guard

About the Role

Marriott International is seeking a Life Guard to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is responsible for ensuring the safety of swimmers and maintaining a comfortable environment for guests within recreational facilities. The position requires 0-1 years of experience.

Key Duties and Tasks

• Monitor designated swimming areas for dangerous situations, unusual activities, and swimmers in distress.
• Apply appropriate rescue techniques when swimmers require assistance.
• Promote and enforce recreational facility rules and regulations.
• Identify situations where guests cannot safely participate in an activity and report these to a supervisor or manager.
• Provide assistance to injured guests until emergency medical services arrive.
• Contribute to a cheerful and comfortable environment for all guests.
• Manage towels by taking, folding, and stacking them according to company procedures.
• Perform cleaning duties, including washing, scrubbing, and cleaning the pool deck area.
• Report accidents, injuries, and hazardous working conditions to management.

General Responsibilities

• Comply with all company safety policies and procedures; report maintenance issues, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete required safety training and certifications.
• Maintain a neat and professional uniform and personal appearance.
• Protect company property information and assets.
• Support co-workers and treat them with dignity and respect, contributing to team goals.
• Meet quality assurance expectations and standards.
• Perform physical tasks including moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing less than 50 pounds (** kg) without assistance.
• Assist in moving, lifting, carrying, and placing objects weighing more than 75 pounds (** kg).
• Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or for the entire work shift, moving at a speed required to respond to work situations.
• Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines to identify defects.
• Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of various sizes and weights, requiring fine motor skills and good hand-eye coordination.
• Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting at the waist, crawling, and leaning.
• Move over inclined, uneven, or slippery surfaces and stairs, and climb up and down ladders, stairs, and/or service ramps.
• Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, communicating clearly and professionally.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by supervisors.

Qualifications and Certifications

• High school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
• Certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).
• First Aid Certification.
• Physical Training Equipment Certification.
• Any additional certification or training required by local and state agencies.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, within the recreational facilities of Marriott International. The role involves direct interaction with guests and requires adherence to strict safety protocols.
