About the Role

Amgen is seeking a highly skilled Market Access Senior Manager (Market Access Lead) to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is instrumental in maximizing access for Amgen's products by effectively communicating their value to payers in targeted accounts and driving market penetration within the region.

Key Accountabilities

The Market Access Senior Manager will be responsible for achieving strategic market access objectives, including:

  • Maximizing access for Amgen products by articulating their value to payers in targeted accounts.
  • Overseeing the performance and activities of Key Account Managers (KAMs).
  • Developing and executing strategies for Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs).
  • Ensuring net sales objectives are met across hospital accounts within the district.
  • Managing pricing and rebates in alignment with established price policies.
  • Cultivating relationships with key stakeholders for national, regional, and account-level access.
  • Driving the introduction and access of new products based on their inherent value.
  • Facilitating the sharing of relevant information with KAMs, Sales Managers, and other Amgen stakeholders.

Core Responsibilities

The responsibilities for this role are structured across planning, execution, and tracking phases:

  • Planning:
    • Anticipate developments within the Saudi healthcare landscape.
    • Map decision processes and identify key decision makers.
    • Implement and monitor action plans for priority regional accounts in collaboration with the Cluster Team.
    • Develop pricing policies applicable to all accounts.
    • Organize regular interactions with Regional Value & Access managers to share objectives and information.
    • Contribute to the development of marketing and commercial strategies.
  • Execution:
    • Build and maintain relationships with identified stakeholders.
    • Execute the external engagement plan and policy.
    • Implement key accounts planning initiatives.
    • Negotiate sales conditions based on value, securing regional and account access.
    • Lead the execution phase of the Key Account Excellence process.
    • Ensure access for new products.
    • Ensure a consistent value offer, accurate account calculation, and follow-up on implementation.
    • Execute action plans aligned with the Cluster Team.
  • Tracking:
    • Monitor sales, access, and price development.
    • Ensure contract fulfillment.
    • Follow up on and update account and stakeholder analyses to enhance understanding of customer needs.
    • Track productivity and its impact.

Qualifications and Experience

The knowledge and skills necessary to perform the duties of this position are typically acquired through the following combination of education, experience, and knowledge, or their equivalent. Candidates should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience.

  • Demonstrated track record of successfully introducing new products in hospital settings.
  • Proven experience in negotiating prices and conditions with hospital pharmacists and other key decision makers.
  • Thorough knowledge of the majority of decision makers within the assigned area.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with objectives and consistently achieve them.
  • Experience working effectively within complex and cross-functional teams.
  • Prior experience in innovative and/or multinational companies.

Location and Work Type

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, requiring on-site presence to engage with key stakeholders and manage regional accounts effectively.
