About the Role

Alfanar is seeking a qualified Material Planning Section Manager to oversee material planning and inventory control activities in Riyadh. This full-time position requires 5-10 years of experience in a relevant field. The role is critical for ensuring material availability, operational continuity, and alignment with production and business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee material planning activities to ensure alignment with production schedules and operational needs.
• Review and approve material requirements based on demand forecasts, production plans, and current inventory status.
• Ensure the timely and accurate issuance of material requisitions to the procurement department.
• Monitor planning parameters and ensure effective execution of material plans.
• Monitor stock levels of raw materials, components, and consumables to prevent shortages and overstocking.
• Define and control inventory parameters, including safety stock, reorder levels, and coverage targets.
• Ensure inventory accuracy in coordination with warehouse teams and resolve any discrepancies.
• Drive the optimization of inventory levels in line with cost and service objectives.
• Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely supplier deliveries aligned with production requirements.
• Collaborate with production planning to ensure material availability supports manufacturing schedules.
• Liaise with sales, logistics, and quality teams to ensure smooth material flow.
• Act as an escalation point for material planning issues and resolve cross-functional conflicts.
• Own section KPIs related to material availability, inventory accuracy, and order fulfillment.
• Monitor performance against targets and ensure the achievement of defined KPIs.
• Prepare and review material planning reports and provide insights to management.
• Drive corrective actions to improve planning accuracy and operational performance.
• Identify risks related to material shortages, supplier delays, and forecast inaccuracies.
• Develop and implement mitigation plans, including safety stock adjustments and alternative sourcing strategies.
• Monitor critical materials and ensure continuity of supply to avoid production disruptions.
• Supervise and guide the material planning team to ensure effective execution of responsibilities.
• Allocate tasks, monitor team performance, and ensure adherence to planning standards.
• Support the development of team capabilities and enhance planning knowledge and skills.
• Promote best practices and continuous improvement within the team.

Leadership and Accountability

The role requires strong leadership capabilities, including the ability to recruit, develop, and manage high-performing individuals, as well as address underperformance constructively. Managers are expected to treat subordinates equally and base assessments on performance that leads to planned results. Ensuring the availability of a delegation of authority matrix is also a key responsibility. The Section Manager must take full responsibility for their operations, anticipate problems, and make timely, proper decisions.

Business and Process Management

This position involves transforming corporate goals into actionable business plans, including annual and development plans, and monitoring their execution. Performance tracking and initiating corrective actions are essential. The role also includes responsible monitoring and control of budgets and expenses for cost efficiency. Developing the organizational structure, ensuring accurate job descriptions, and promoting well-defined systems, policies, and procedures are also key aspects.
