About the Role
alfanar is seeking a Material Planning Section Manager to join its Supply Chain team in Riyadh. This full-time position requires 6 to 10 years of experience in material planning and inventory control.
Key Responsibilities
The Material Planning Section Manager will be responsible for overseeing all material planning and inventory control activities. This includes managing planning processes, optimizing inventory levels, and ensuring material availability to support operational continuity and business requirements.
- Oversee material planning to align with production schedules and operational needs.
- Review and approve material requirements based on demand forecasts and production plans.
- Ensure timely and accurate issuance of material requisitions to procurement.
- Monitor planning parameters and ensure effective execution of material plans.
- Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages and overstocking, defining and controlling inventory parameters such as safety stock and reorder levels.
- Ensure inventory accuracy in coordination with warehouse teams and drive optimization of inventory levels.
- Coordinate with procurement, production planning, sales, logistics, and quality teams to ensure smooth material flow and timely supplier deliveries.
- Act as an escalation point for material planning issues and resolve cross-functional conflicts.
- Own section KPIs related to material availability, inventory accuracy, and order fulfillment, monitoring performance against targets.
- Prepare and review material planning reports, providing insights to management and driving corrective actions for improvement.
- Identify risks related to material shortages and supplier delays, developing and implementing mitigation plans.
- Supervise and guide the material planning team, allocating tasks, monitoring performance, and promoting best practices.
Leadership and Management
This role requires strong leadership capabilities, including the ability to recruit, develop, and manage high-performing teams. The manager is expected to foster a culture of equal treatment and assess subordinates based on performance and achievement of planned results. Qualifications and Experience
