Job Description

About the Role

Hitachi Energy is seeking an Operational Planning Team Leader for a full-time position in Dammam, Eastern region. This role is central to ensuring smooth manufacturing operations, material readiness, and on-time project execution by leading and coordinating production and material planning activities. The successful candidate will bring 5-10 years of relevant experience to align production schedules with factory capacity, material availability, and operational priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise Production Planners and Material Planners to ensure alignment with operational priorities and business targets.
  • Ensure production schedules are aligned with factory capacity, material availability, engineering readiness, and project priorities.
  • Monitor overall factory load and coordinate balancing activities to prevent underloading or overloading situations.
  • Oversee material availability and readiness to support production and project delivery requirements.
  • Monitor operational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including production adherence, material shortages, overdue orders, and delivery performance.
  • Lead operational review meetings and follow up on action plans related to production delays, bottlenecks, and material risks.

Cross-Functional Coordination and Improvement

  • Coordinate closely with SCM, Engineering, Production, Warehouse, and Project Management teams to ensure smooth operational execution.
  • Ensure operational risks and missed milestones are properly tracked, communicated, and escalated when required.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to production planning, material planning, and operational workflows.
  • Support ERP/SAP planning accuracy, including lead times, planning parameters, and reporting alignment.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a relevant operational planning or leadership role.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Engineering, SCM, Production, Warehouse, and Project Management teams.
  • Professional certifications in Planning or Operations Management are considered an advantage.
