The Role of Mechanical Inspector

Jacobs (KSA) is seeking a Mechanical Inspector to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time position plays a crucial role in monitoring and inspecting mechanical works throughout the construction lifecycle. The primary responsibility is to ensure the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance are achieved, contributing to the successful delivery of world-class hospitality projects and upholding Jacobs' commitment to excellence and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct site inspections of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, fire protection, LPG systems, and vertical transportation interfaces, during all phases of construction.
  • Review mechanical drawings, specifications, shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements to verify compliance with project requirements.
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure installations are performed in accordance with approved drawings, contract documents, local regulations, and international standards.
  • Inspect materials delivered to site and verify compliance with approved submittals and project specifications.
  • Identify, document, and report non-conformities, defects, and quality concerns, and monitor implementation of corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and project management teams to resolve technical and quality-related issues.
  • Witness testing, commissioning activities, and performance verification of mechanical systems.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly inspection reports, maintaining accurate records of inspections, observations, and corrective actions.
  • Ensure all mechanical works comply with health, safety, and environmental requirements and Jacobs' quality management standards.
  • Participate in snagging, de-snagging, and final inspections prior to project handover.
  • Support project teams in achieving timely completion of construction milestones and successful project delivery.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven experience of 5 to 10 years working on hotel, hospitality, mixed-use, or luxury hospitality developments.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple inspection activities simultaneously.
