About the Role
Alkhorayef Water & Power Technologies (AWPT) is seeking a Mechanical Technician to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time position focused on ensuring the optimal operation of mechanical equipment and systems within a wastewater treatment plant.
Role Purpose
The primary objective of this role is to perform essential preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical assets at the wastewater treatment plant. This ensures reliable system operation, minimizes equipment downtime, maintains overall asset integrity, and upholds strict health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities in accordance with established schedules and procedures.
- Operate, inspect, and maintain various mechanical equipment, including pumps, motors, valves, sludge handling systems, and piping systems within the plant.
- Conduct routine inspections to verify equipment reliability and identify any abnormal operating conditions.
- Diagnose mechanical failures, perform necessary repairs, and replace defective components as required.
- Carry out equipment disassembly, assembly, alignment, and installation tasks.
- Assist in the maintenance of aeration equipment, mixers, conveyors, rotating equipment, and other mechanical systems.
- Perform lubrication activities and monitor lubricant levels according to manufacturers' recommendations.
- Record maintenance activities, equipment history, and repair details using the organization's documentation or CMMS.
- Comply with all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, and permit-to-work requirements during maintenance operations.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, ensuring the proper use of tools and equipment.
- Coordinate effectively with Operations, Electrical, and Instrumentation teams to ensure continuous and efficient plant operation.
- Participate in scheduled shutdowns, emergency maintenance, and plant commissioning activities when necessary.
- Perform any other related duties assigned by the direct supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
- 0-1 year of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance.
Work Environment and Collaboration
This role is based at a wastewater treatment plant, requiring hands-on work with various mechanical systems. The technician will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Electrical, and Instrumentation, to ensure integrated and efficient plant performance.
