About the Medical Director, Sports Medicine & Performance Center
Qiddiya | القدية is seeking a Medical Director, Sports Medicine & Performance Center (Clinical Exp) QHC, to be based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time leadership position requires over 10 years of relevant experience and involves leading a defined service line within the Sports Center, such as rehabilitation, sports medicine, performance, fitness, or wellness.
Role Purpose and Leadership Scope
The Medical Director is responsible for the comprehensive oversight of an assigned service line within the Sports Center. This includes owning the strategic direction, operational execution, financial performance, and quality of service delivery. The role also encompasses ensuring positive customer outcomes and developing the capabilities of the multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Service Line Strategy & Growth: Define and execute the service line strategy in alignment with the Sports Center and QHC objectives. Identify expansion opportunities, develop annual plans, and support business cases for new services, equipment, and partnerships.
- Operational Ownership: Manage day-to-day operations, ensuring efficient, safe, and high-quality service delivery. Oversee workflows, patient/client pathways, scheduling, capacity, resource allocation, and throughput. Coordinate with other service lines and implement operational improvements.
- Financial Accountability: Manage the service line budget, cost control, and revenue targets. Monitor key financial metrics such as utilization, productivity, and profitability. Develop pricing recommendations and identify opportunities for revenue improvement and waste reduction.
- Quality, Outcomes & Standards: Ensure adherence to clinical, technical, safety, and quality standards. Monitor outcomes, customer satisfaction, and incident reports. Lead corrective actions, continuous improvement initiatives, and support compliance requirements.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with physicians, therapists, trainers, and various internal teams including operations, marketing, finance, HR, and quality. Build relationships with external partners such as clubs, federations, schools, universities, and healthcare entities.
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead multidisciplinary teams, set performance expectations, and address performance gaps. Support recruitment, onboarding, training, professional development, and succession planning. Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Performance Objectives
Success in this role will be measured by:
- Achieving service line revenue, profitability, and budget targets.
- Improving utilization, productivity, throughput, and capacity performance.
- Maintaining high-quality clinical and service outcomes.
- Enhancing customer satisfaction and reducing complaints or escalations.
- Ensuring compliance with service standards, safety requirements, and audit expectations.
- Developing and launching new programs or service enhancements.
- Building a high-performing and engaged service line team.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates for this position should possess:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in a relevant clinical or leadership role within sports medicine, rehabilitation, performance, or a related healthcare field.
- Demonstrated experience in leading and managing service lines, including strategic planning, operational oversight, and financial management.
- Proven ability to drive quality improvement, ensure compliance with standards, and foster positive customer outcomes.
- Strong leadership capabilities with experience in managing multidisciplinary teams and fostering professional development.
