The Role: Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL)

FarmaMondo is seeking a Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) for Saudi Arabia, based in Riyadh. This full-time position reports to the Managing Director & General Manager MENA, with a dotted line to the Market Access Manager KSA. The MSL will be responsible for driving and implementing medical affairs and scientific engagement activities across the Kingdom, with a primary focus on the rare disease therapeutic area. The role requires regular travel within Saudi Arabia to engage with healthcare professionals, hospital networks, scientific societies, and patient organizations.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain professional scientific relationships with the local rare disease healthcare community, including HCPs, KOLs, leading experts, key hospital accounts, scientific societies, and patient organizations.
• Deliver evidence-based, balanced, and compliant scientific information, and discuss novel therapeutic solutions with key stakeholders.
• Lead scientific discussions to support the inclusion of rare disease treatments in hospital formularies and/or the definition of treatment algorithms.
• Organize and lead Advisory Boards, Expert Meetings, and Medical Information sessions.
• Support the access pathway for newly initiated patients, collaborating with Market Access and supply teams to ensure a smooth process from treatment initiation to medication availability.
• Ensure timely and compliant responses to internal and external medical information requests.
• Provide appropriate medical support to Commercial and Market Access teams, adhering to local standards, regulations (including SFDA requirements), and internal policies.
• Implement medical field activities in line with FarmaMondo's strategic objectives in Saudi Arabia.
• Plan and execute strategic and tactical field activities that support the country's medical affairs plan, based on insights collected from KOLs and other stakeholders.
• Support the development of country business cases and provide medical and scientific input to build the team's business development capabilities.
• Partner with Market Access, Commercial, and Regulatory teams to ensure patient-focused activities.

Qualifications and Experience

• Pharmacist (BPharm/PharmD) or Medical Doctor (MD). An advanced degree in life sciences (MSc/PhD) is also considered.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Medical Scientific Liaison, Medical Advisor, or in a similar field-based Medical Affairs role.
• Solid, hands-on experience in rare diseases, neurology, or haematology is essential.
• Knowledge of Saudi pharmaceutical regulations (SFDA, etc.) and of pricing, access, and funding pathways (MOH, NUPCO, tenders, private funding, or other settings).
• Experience contributing to business cases based on patient funnel, patient journey, and insights from local or regional KOLs.
• Track record of engagement across all phases of the product life cycle, from pre-launch and launch to maturity, extension, or withdrawal.
• Experience engaging with scientific societies and patient organizations.
