Job Description

About the Role

W Hotels is seeking a dedicated and experienced Restaurant Manager to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time role is central to overseeing daily operations across restaurants, bars, and room service, focusing on enhancing guest and employee satisfaction while maximizing financial performance. The Manager will also identify training needs and implement plans to achieve departmental goals.

Operational Management

  • Supervise and manage all day-to-day operations within restaurants, bars, and room service areas.
  • Assist with menu planning and ensure the maintenance of high sanitation standards.
  • Support servers and hosts on the floor during peak meal periods and high-demand times.
  • Review staffing levels to ensure optimal guest service, operational efficiency, and financial objectives are met.
  • Oversee the financial aspects of the department, including purchasing and the payment of invoices.
  • Recognize and maintain good quality products and presentations.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead, influence, and encourage team members, fostering mutual trust, respect, and cooperation.
  • Serve as a role model, demonstrating appropriate behaviors and advocating for sound financial and business decision-making.
  • Identify developmental needs, provide coaching, mentoring, and ongoing training to improve employee knowledge and skills.
  • Provide guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
  • Ensure compliance with all food & beverage policies, standards, and procedures, as well as applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations, including liquor laws and food handling standards.
  • Ensure employees are treated fairly and equitably, striving to improve employee retention and satisfaction.

Guest Experience Excellence

  • Manage day-to-day operations to ensure quality, standards, and consistent customer satisfaction.
  • Display leadership in guest hospitality, exemplify excellent customer service, and create a positive atmosphere for guest relations.
  • Empower employees to provide exceptional customer service and act as a guest service role model.
  • Effectively handle guest problems and complaints, ensuring corrective action is taken for continuous service improvement.
  • Gather feedback from guests informally during meals or upon departure to assess quality of food, beverage, service levels, and overall satisfaction.
  • Manage service delivery in all outlets from point of entry to departure, ensuring a seamless and excellent guest experience.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should meet one of the following educational and experience criteria:

  • A high school diploma or GED with 4 years of experience in the food and beverage, culinary, or a related professional area.
  • OR
  • A 2-year degree from an accredited university in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related major with 2 years of experience in the food and beverage, culinary, or a related professional area.
