About the Role

W Hotels is seeking a dedicated and experienced Mgr Restaurant to oversee daily restaurant operations in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves supervising Restaurants/Bars and Room Service, ensuring high standards of guest and employee satisfaction, and optimizing financial performance. The Manager Restaurant will play a crucial role in maintaining operational excellence and fostering a positive environment for both guests and the team.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage all daily restaurant, bar/lounge, and room service operations, including staffing levels to meet service and financial objectives.
• Maintain stringent service and sanitation standards across all food and beverage areas.
• Lead the food and beverage team by demonstrating honesty, integrity, and sound financial decision-making.
• Encourage mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members, serving as a role model for appropriate behaviors.
• Identify developmental needs, provide coaching and mentoring, and implement training plans to enhance knowledge and skills.
• Ensure compliance with all food & beverage policies, standards, procedures, and applicable laws and regulations, including food handling, sanitation, and liquor laws.
• Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with employees, setting clear expectations and parameters.

Guest Experience and Service Excellence

• Deliver services that consistently exceed guest expectations for satisfaction and retention.
• Improve service quality by understanding guest needs and providing guidance and feedback to the team.
• Display leadership in guest hospitality, exemplify excellent customer service, and cultivate a positive atmosphere.
• Empower employees to provide exceptional customer service and act as a guest service role model.
• Effectively handle guest problems and complaints, ensuring prompt and satisfactory resolution.
• Gather informal feedback from guests on food and beverage quality, service levels, and overall satisfaction.
• Implement corrective actions to continuously improve service results and incorporate guest satisfaction into departmental meetings.
• Manage service delivery from point of entry to departure, ensuring a seamless and excellent guest experience.

Human Resources and Team Development

• Provide guidance and direction to subordinates, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance.
• Identify educational needs, develop formal training programs, and instruct team members.
• Ensure fair and equitable treatment of employees, striving to improve retention.
• Provide ongoing training to ensure employees understand guest expectations.
• Solicit employee feedback through an "open door" policy and review satisfaction results to address concerns.
• Ensure recognition programs are implemented across areas of responsibility.

Operational Oversight and Support

• Communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates through various channels.
• Analyze information and evaluate results to identify optimal solutions and resolve operational problems.
• Provide direct support to servers and hosts on the floor during peak meal periods and high-demand times.
• Recognize and maintain standards for good quality products and presentations.
• Supervise daily shift operations, particularly in the absence of an Assistant Restaurant Manager.
• Oversee the financial aspects of the department, including purchasing and invoice payments.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in restaurant management or a related field is required.
