Operations Center Operator

About the Role

The Water Transmission Company is seeking an Operations Center Operator to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time role involves supervising the operation and maintenance of pumping stations and transmission lines, ensuring efficiency and safety according to approved standards. The operator will coordinate with various parties to maintain the continuity and quality control of water supplies.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all work adheres to approved policies, processes, procedures, and instructions.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in systems and practices, aiming for cost reduction and increased productivity.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, bylaws, and standards within the Water Transmission Company and related functions.
• Escalate issues to ensure timely and efficient resolution of challenges.
• Monitor the operational performance of pumping stations and pipelines, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures and addressing any deficiencies.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports on incidents, pumping efficiency, resource consumption, and equipment performance.
• Conduct periodic inspections of equipment and systems and coordinate with maintenance teams for preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Implement operational and safety procedures for electrical and mechanical equipment, ensuring compliance with occupational safety requirements.
• Coordinate pumping and distribution operations with the Central Control Room (CCR) and Local Control Stations (LCR) to ensure efficient water flow.
• Issue work permits and supervise maintenance work by internal teams and contractors, ensuring compliance with safety and quality.
• Analyze operational performance by monitoring consumption, comparing forecasts with actual production, and suggesting improvements.
• Perform isolation and re-energization of mechanical and electrical equipment for medium and low voltage, following safety procedures.
• Monitor water quality in coordination with laboratory teams, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
• Participate in planning and developing operational systems by proposing improvements and developing standard operating procedures.
• Operate the Central Control Room manually or electronically, monitoring pumping load and tank levels.
• Inspect and monitor Central Control Room operations by reading gauges, graphs, and other systems for early problem detection.
• Attempt to resolve detected problems and report operational malfunctions or emergencies.
• Monitor and record all equipment readings, summarizing work and problems during shifts in logbooks.
• Implement emergency plans according to instructions and report delays to avoid water supply interruptions.
• Coordinate with the Local Control Room to ensure central orders are executed and manage shutdown or switching activities between pumping units.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, within the Water Transmission Company. The role requires continuous monitoring and coordination with various operational teams and control centers to ensure uninterrupted water supply services.
