Operations Center Operator

About the Role

The Water Transmission Company is seeking an Operations Center Operator to join their team in Riyadh, covering operations in Al-Kharj and Riyadh. This full-time role involves overseeing the operation and maintenance of pumping stations and transmission lines to ensure efficiency and safety, while coordinating with various parties to maintain continuous, high-quality water supplies.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all work adheres to approved policies, processes, procedures, and instructions.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in systems, practices, cost reduction, productivity, and efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, bylaws, and standards within the Water Transmission Company, including those related to Human Capital, Industrial Safety and Security, Risks, and Cyber Security.
• Escalate issues to ensure timely and efficient resolution of challenges.
• Conduct operational monitoring of pumping stations and pipelines, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures and taking corrective actions for deficiencies or malfunctions.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports on incidents, pumping efficiency, resource consumption, and equipment performance, discussing them with relevant parties for process improvement.
• Perform periodic inspections of equipment and systems to ensure operational efficiency and coordinate with maintenance teams for scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Implement operational and safety procedures for the operation, isolation, and re-operation of electrical and mechanical equipment, ensuring compliance with occupational safety requirements.
• Coordinate pumping and distribution operations through continuous communication with the Central Control Room (CCR) and Local Control Stations (LCR) to ensure efficient water flow according to operational plans and maintenance schedules.
• Issue work permits and supervise maintenance execution by internal teams and contractors, ensuring compliance with work procedures, safety, and quality standards.
• Analyze operational performance by monitoring consumption, comparing forecasts with actual production, and proposing improvements to operational efficiency and breakdown reduction.
• Perform isolation and re-energization of medium and low voltage mechanical and electrical equipment, following required safety procedures.
• Monitor water quality in coordination with laboratory teams, ensuring transmission systems comply with quality standards and taking necessary actions upon detection of any quality-affecting defects.
• Participate in the planning and development of operational systems by proposing design improvements, developing standard operating procedures, and ensuring processes comply with the latest technical standards.
• Ensure the availability of spare parts for mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Understand the functions of pumping station operating systems and related guidelines, policies, and operational procedures.
• Operate the Central Control Room manually or electronically according to the shift schedule, ensuring continuous monitoring of pumping load and tank levels.
• Inspect and monitor Central Control Room operations by reading station gauges, graphs, online analyzers, computer screens, meters, and other utilized systems for early detection of potential problems.

Experience Required

• Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in operations and maintenance, preferably within water transmission or a related industry.

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, with operational responsibilities extending to Al-Kharj. The role requires active participation in monitoring and managing water transmission infrastructure.
