Job Description

About the Role

Acwa China is seeking a Control Room Operator to join their team in Tabuk. This full-time position requires 2-5 years of experience and focuses on monitoring and controlling the operations of power and water units from the plant's control room. The primary objective is to maintain stable operations and meet production targets in accordance with established work instructions and quality and HSSE standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate the assigned unit/plant from the control panel, adjusting operating conditions and product flows as per defined procedures.
  • Take immediate corrective action in the event of abnormalities or malfunctions in operating equipment.
  • Maintain continuous radio contact with field operators, providing updates on operating conditions and initiating necessary actions.
  • Update control room registers and logs, ensuring proper shift handover for seamless communication.
  • Monitor system abnormalities, take quick actions to normalize equipment according to work instructions and SOPs, and make initial diagnostic checks for malfunctions.
  • Raise work requests for faulty equipment to relevant departments and follow up on timely defect rectification.
  • Coordinate and ensure Lock Out & Tag Out procedures during equipment isolation for maintenance, and normalize equipment after cancellation as per approved Permit to Work.
  • Provide on-the-job training to junior team members to facilitate knowledge sharing and maintain quality standards.

Health, Safety, Security & Environment

  • Adhere to all relevant health, safety, security, and environmental procedures, instructions, and controls.
  • Monitor environmental regulatory parameters regularly and report deviations to the Shift Supervisor/Engineer for corrective action.

Policies and Procedures Adherence

  • Comply with all relevant organizational and departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions to ensure consistent work standards.

Continuous Improvement and Related Assignments

  • Contribute to the identification and implementation of change initiatives, programs, and projects in line with organizational standards.
  • Perform any other duties as required by the line manager.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess a thorough understanding of plant layout, processes, advanced technology systems, equipment, and work procedures for multiple operating assets. A minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience is required to effectively perform day-to-day operations and duties as per defined quality and HSE standards.
