Outbound Logistics Section Manager

About the Role

alfanar is seeking an Outbound Logistics Section Manager to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time role involves managing and coordinating outbound logistics operations to ensure the timely, cost-effective, and accurate delivery of finished goods to customers, projects, and distribution centers. The manager will supervise transportation planning, shipment execution, and logistics provider performance, while maintaining compliance with company policies and service standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule outbound shipments based on sales orders, project timelines, and customer requirements.
• Consolidate shipment requests to optimize transportation costs and improve delivery efficiency.
• Oversee the daily dispatch of finished goods to wholesale, project, and export customers, monitoring progress and ensuring on-time delivery.
• Coordinate with transport providers to resolve issues and ensure service quality.
• Evaluate transporter performance against key criteria, including on-time delivery and service reliability, and conduct regular meetings for performance review.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of shipping documents, including Proof of Delivery (POD), and maintain compliance with regulations.
• Identify opportunities to reduce outbound logistics costs through route optimization and negotiation with service providers.
• Address operational issues related to delivery delays, POD discrepancies, and payment processing for logistics providers.
• Supervise section staff, providing guidance, training, and support to improve team efficiency and performance.
• Track and report section-level KPIs, such as on-time delivery, logistics cost per shipment, and transporter performance.

General Management Responsibilities

• Recruit, recognize, and cultivate high performers to develop a robust second line of management.
• Manage low performers through guidance or necessary action, ensuring fair treatment of all subordinates based on performance.
• Take full responsibility for operations, anticipate problems, and make timely decisions.
• Deliver required results in a timely manner with specified quality and cost.
• Transform corporate goals into business plans, monitor performance, and initiate corrective actions.
• Monitor and control budgets and expenses to achieve optimum cost efficiency.
• Develop the organizational structure and ensure availability of job descriptions for all roles.
• Develop and coordinate written systems, policies, procedures, and seek automation opportunities.
• Ensure a safe, secure, and legal work environment in accordance with standard regulations.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 6 to 10 years of relevant experience in outbound logistics management.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and coordinate complex logistics operations.
• Proficiency in managing service provider performance and ensuring compliance.
• Strong analytical skills for cost control and optimization.
• Experience in team supervision and performance management.

Work Environment
