This full-time role is designed for professionals with 0-1 years of experience, focusing on the design and selection of monitoring systems tailored to client needs and asset categories. The objective is to evaluate and diagnose electrical systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance, predict maintenance requirements, and prevent unplanned outages.
Core Responsibilities
The Process Engineer will be responsible for a range of activities, including site engineering, data collection, simulation modeling, and supporting testing and commissioning. Key duties include:
- Participating in plant and site visits to collect performance curves, heat & mass balance diagrams, P&IDs, and other technical design inputs for process and performance modeling.
- Supporting pre-visit remote data collection, including accessing process historians, tag databases, and DCS/instrumentation data.
- Assisting with the technical assessment and analysis of main plant equipment and performance curves, such as rotating equipment, heat exchangers, and other process units relevant to the facility type.
- Supporting the technical assessment of process historian/data infrastructure and contributing to site/plant readiness reporting.
- Coordinating on-site sessions with client Instrumentation & Control (I&C) and Operations Engineering teams during data collection and technical assessment phases.
Technical Modeling and System Integration
This role involves significant engagement with advanced modeling and system integration tasks:
- Supporting the build-out and configuration of first-principles / thermodynamic performance models under the guidance of senior process engineers and technology-partner specialists.
- Assisting with the calculation of key performance indicators (KPIs), efficiency and heat-rate metrics, and other performance benchmarks relevant to assigned facilities.
- Supporting model installation, configuration, and integration with client data and reporting systems.
- Contributing to Factory/Site Acceptance Testing, integrated performance testing, and model/system acceptance testing, including associated documentation.
- Maintaining technical issue logs and contributing to regular project status reporting for Project Managers and Technical Leads.
Client Engagement and On-Site Presence
The Process Engineer will serve as a key point of contact and support for clients:
- Participating in knowledge transfer sessions delivered to client personnel.
- Building and maintaining effective working relationships with client site teams, acting as the primary on-site AIGC point of contact for day-to-day technical coordination.
- Acting as AIGC's on-site/resident presence at assigned client facilities, under the supervision of the AIGC Technical Lead and Project Manager.
Required Qualifications and Skills
Candidates for this role should possess the following attributes and capabilities:
- Self-motivated with a strong ownership mindset.
- Adaptability to extended on-site/resident assignments away from Riyadh.
- Proven ability to read, comprehend, and apply information from technical manuals and other reference materials.
- Ability to make informed recommendations in situations where data sets may be incomplete.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to balance multiple requirements effectively.
- Ability to interpret how organizational goals and strategy translate into service or departmental activity.
- Ability to recognize opportunities for process improvements and assist with their implementation.
- Ability to engage effectively with client and team stakeholders.
Career Development and Work Environment
This position offers a structured path for professional growth within AIGC. The successful candidate will progressively build toward independent ownership of site-level engineering support as competency develops. The role is intended to expand beyond its initial assignment, with opportunities to rotate across various AIGC client engagements as the IDS portfolio grows, spanning sectors such as power generation, oil & gas, and other process industry facilities.
