Project Director

About the Role

Options Executive Search Private is seeking a Project Director to lead a portfolio of EPC substation and transmission line projects in Saudi Arabia. This full-time leadership position involves overseeing project delivery from engineering through commissioning and handover, acting as the senior point of contact for key stakeholders. The role requires a minimum of 10 years of experience and is based in Riyadh, Dammam, or Jeddah, depending on project assignments.

Project Leadership and Oversight

The Project Director will be responsible for the overall execution strategy and priorities across multiple large 380 kV projects. This includes managing schedule, cost, quality, safety, client relationships, and project profitability. The role involves direct leadership of project teams and acting as the primary interface with clients and consultants.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a portfolio of EPC substation and transmission line projects across Saudi Arabia, defining execution strategy and priorities.
• Direct project delivery from engineering and procurement through construction, testing, commissioning, energization, and handover.
• Lead Project Managers, Engineering Managers, Construction Managers, and Project Controls teams.
• Act as the senior interface with Saudi Electricity Company (SEC), National Grid SA, consultants, and other stakeholders; lead executive-level reviews and resolve issues.
• Manage project P&L, including budgets, forecasts, cash flow, cost optimization, and collections.
• Manage contracts, variations, claims, and extension of time submissions.
• Maintain a strong HSE and quality culture across all sites.
• Oversee engineering deliverables and technical risk, in line with SEC, National Grid, and IEC standards.
• Identify and mitigate execution and commercial risks, implementing recovery plans when necessary.
• Develop and mentor project leaders and build high-performing teams.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in project leadership roles within the power transmission and distribution sector.
• Demonstrated experience running large 380 kV projects.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, owning results across various metrics.
• Experience in EPC substation and transmission line projects.

Work Environment and Compensation

This is a senior leadership role within a global EPC organization with a substantial project pipeline in Saudi Arabia. The position is full-time, and locations may include Riyadh, Dammam, and Jeddah, depending on project requirements.
