The Role of Project Legal Director

DataVolt is seeking a Project Legal Director to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time role requires a legal professional with 5-10 years of experience, responsible for overseeing all legal aspects of assigned projects. The Project Legal Director will manage complex legal documentation, lead transaction closings, and provide expert legal guidance to support the company's strategic initiatives in data center development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate transaction documents, including joint development agreements, EPC contracts, power supply/purchase agreements, land lease agreements, joint venture agreements, shareholders agreements, O&M or FM related agreements, term sheets, heads-of-terms, and ancillary agreements.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts such as co-location services agreements, service level agreements, and all related documentation.
  • Lead and coordinate transaction closing matters, encompassing due diligence, conditions precedent management, document review, and the preparation of Board of Directors resolutions.
  • Handle all day-to-day legal work pertinent to assigned projects.
  • Supervise and guide junior lawyers within the legal team.
  • Attend meetings or conference calls with internal and external clients, counterparties, and other stakeholders as required.
  • Conduct presentations and training for business team members on project development matters, including deal structuring and construction contracts.
  • Manage external legal counsel when applicable or when local law input is necessary to support assigned projects.

Required Experience

  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant legal experience, preferably within project development, infrastructure, or a related field.

Work Location

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
