About the Role

WSP is seeking a Project Manager / Senior Project Manager - Infrastructure to support major infrastructure and masterplan development projects in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves managing multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring successful project execution, and maintaining strong client relationships to deliver projects within agreed scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives.

Role Context and Contribution

The successful candidate will possess a strong technical engineering background, preferably in Civil Engineering, coupled with experience from international engineering consultancies on large-scale infrastructure and masterplan development projects in Saudi Arabia. This position requires a commercially aware and client-focused professional capable of navigating complex stakeholder environments while delivering high-quality project outcomes. As a key member of the Transport & Infrastructure team, the Project Manager / Senior Project Manager will provide leadership throughout the project lifecycle, supporting strategic growth and contributing to significant infrastructure programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of large-scale infrastructure and masterplan development projects.
  • Manage multidisciplinary design and project delivery teams across all project phases.
  • Develop project execution plans, schedules, resource forecasts, and delivery strategies.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards.
  • Monitor project performance and implement corrective actions as required.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for clients and key stakeholders, developing and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Manage communications with government authorities, developers, contractors, and project partners.
  • Lead project meetings, progress reviews, and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Support Project Directors in managing executive-level client interactions and project governance requirements.
  • Monitor project budgets, forecasts, resource utilisation, and commercial performance.
  • Support contract administration, change management, and commercial reporting activities.
  • Manage project risks and ensure mitigation measures are implemented.
  • Provide technical leadership and oversight, ensuring engineering solutions align with client requirements, regulatory expectations, and industry best practices.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary design inputs and project deliverables, supporting technical reviews and quality assurance processes.
  • Ensure compliance with project management processes, company procedures, and governance frameworks.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 12-15+ years of experience in engineering consultancy, infrastructure project delivery, or major development programmes.
  • Proven experience working with leading international engineering consultancies.
  • Demonstrated experience managing large-scale infrastructure and masterplan development projects in Saudi Arabia.
  • Strong technical engineering background, preferably in civil infrastructure projects.
  • Proven client-facing experience and ability to manage relationships with government entities, developers, and key stakeholders.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and coordinating complex project deliverables.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, project controls, commercial management, and risk management.
  • Experience administering consultancy contracts and managing project budgets, schedules, and resources.
  • PMP certification, Chartered Engineer status, or equivalent professional accreditation is desirable.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, within WSP's Transport & Infrastructure team. The role involves working on significant infrastructure programmes across the Kingdom.
