About John Crane and the Role

John Crane is seeking a Project Manager - KSA to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time role is responsible for the successful delivery of projects, ensuring contractual commitments are met in terms of time, cost, and quality. The Project Manager will oversee projects from inception to completion, focusing on customer satisfaction and financial targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver projects in full, on time, and within budget, meeting all contractual commitments.
• Develop plans to achieve contractual milestones, managing site teams and working autonomously as required.
• Ensure total customer satisfaction, meet or exceed financial targets (project P&L management), and conduct consistent with corporate values.
• Execute, monitor, and control project quality, cost, schedule deliverables, risk management, and scope.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, work breakdown structures, look-ahead schedules, resource plans, procurement trackers, cost reports, and site execution plans.
• Prepare scheduled updates on construction/site activities, analyzing manpower and equipment needs.
• Assign work to cross-functional program/project teams (technical, manufacturing, operations, supply chain, administrative).
• Prepare bid proposals, business plans, program scope, program management plans, operating budgets, and financial terms.
• Maintain budget, scheduling, and project database oversight, reporting regularly to management on progress, plans, and potential issues.
• Lead and participate in project activities, ensuring adherence to HSSE, client service, and contractual obligations.
• Prepare reports according to the PMO Reporting Framework, detailing project status, earned value, delays, issues, risks, and other key metrics.
• Lead equipment delivery to site and completion of MIR activities and approvals.
• Coordinate with OEMs, specialist subcontractors, airport engineering teams, IT/network teams, civil and MEP contractors, baggage handling system integrators, and operational stakeholders.
• Review layouts, IFC drawings, cable routing, equipment positioning, queue design, line balancing, structural support, heat load/ventilation, UPS, and power isolation needs.
• Control change requests, avoid scope creep, and ensure variations are technically assessed, commercially approved, and operationally coordinated.
• Lead FAT/IFAT/SAT/site acceptance testing, image quality checks, throughput validation, failover testing, calibration, operator familiarization, and final handover documentation.
• Identify and categorize risks, working with stakeholders to mitigate potential impacts on program implementation.
• Secure work permits, airside access permits, escort arrangements, method statement approvals, and planned outage/possession approvals.
• Work with customers, clients, and internal teams to resolve issues impacting program execution.
• Coordinate logistics for delivery, staging, lifting, customs clearance, storage, and movement of heavy screening equipment.
• Track long-lead items, OEM attendance, spares, warranty certificates, software/license keys, and regulatory approval dependencies.
• Chair progress meetings, interface workshops, risk reviews, construction coordination meetings, and operational readiness meetings.
• Develop and measure criteria to monitor program schedules, reporting on KPIs, objectives, milestones, and overall program financials.
• Manage overall cross-functional program teams, providing guidance in problem-solving and directing activities.
• Ensure strict compliance with airport safety rules, permit-to-work systems, lock-out/tag-out, electrical isolation, lifting plans, working at height, housekeeping, and FOD prevention.
• Ensure all project staff, vendors, and subcontractors hold required airport security clearances, inductions, airside permits, and competency certifications.
• Ensure work aligns with aviation security, safety, environmental, and data protection requirements, reporting incidents promptly.
• Maintain ethical procurement, vendor management, and records management practices.
• Lead matrix-based site teams and specialist vendors, assigning priorities, monitoring performance, resolving issues, and reinforcing quality and safety.
• Support training and readiness of operators, supervisors, maintenance teams, and airport stakeholders before go-live.
• Foster coordination, disciplined escalation, and zero-surprise communication in a 24/7 operational airport environment.
• Maintain RAID logs, action trackers, interface matrices, hold-point trackers, permit registers, and commissioning/snagging logs.
• Report status on budget, schedule, risks, issues, test readiness, lane availability, baggage throughput impact, and handover readiness.

Qualifications and Experience

• 5-10 years of relevant experience in project management.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.
• Strong understanding of project P&L management.
• Experience with risk management and stakeholder communication.
• Proficiency in developing project plans, schedules, and reports.
