QA/QC Engineer Construction

About the Role

Teef Najd Group is seeking a QA/QC Engineer Construction to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is crucial for ensuring that all construction activities, materials, and workmanship adhere to approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, and contractual requirements. The position requires substantial on-site experience, particularly in civil and architectural works, with a focus on finishing works and construction quality inspections.

Material Team Leadership

The successful candidate will also function as an experienced Material Team Leader, responsible for overseeing all material-related activities for construction projects in Riyadh. This includes a strong emphasis on architectural and finishing materials, with prior experience in hotel and hospitality projects being beneficial.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate all material-related activities at the project site, focusing on architectural and finishing materials.
• Review project drawings, specifications, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), material schedules, and technical requirements to identify material needs and compliance criteria.
• Prepare, review, and manage Material Submittals, ensuring timely submission and approval by the consultant/client.
• Evaluate materials against project specifications, approved drawings, design intent, and applicable standards prior to submission and procurement.
• Coordinate with consultants, designers, procurement, technical office, QA/QC, and construction teams regarding material selection, approvals, and technical requirements.
• Manage material samples, mock-ups, finishes, and approval processes, particularly for architectural and interior finishing works.
• Identify material-related technical issues, deviations, and potential risks, coordinating appropriate technical solutions.
• Review proposed alternative materials and support technical evaluation and value engineering while maintaining project specifications, quality, and design intent.
• Provide technical support to the Procurement department in evaluating suppliers, manufacturers, and material proposals.
• Coordinate approved materials with shop drawings and site requirements to ensure consistency prior to execution.
• Lead and guide Material Engineers, coordinating workload and priorities according to the project schedule.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in construction QA/QC and material management.
• Proven hands-on site experience in civil and architectural works.
• Specific expertise in finishing works and construction quality inspections.
• Strong background in architectural and finishing materials.
• Demonstrated experience in hotel and hospitality projects is preferred.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, requiring active presence on project sites to oversee and manage material and quality control processes.
