We are seeking a Senior Manager Credit Risk (Saudization) to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on a full-time basis.
Role Purpose and Scope
The incumbent will be responsible for assisting in the management of the credit approval process for individual credit facility proposals. This includes proposals for Corporate customers and specific Retail proposals that fall outside applicable policy parameters. The role involves assessing the quality of credit exposure, ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures, and continuously researching and applying best practices in credit risk, in accordance with Basel II and other relevant guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage credit approval processes within delegated authority, ensuring alignment with QNB’s Credit Risk Strategy and established policies.
- Perform comprehensive credit assessments, analyzing various credit risk facets including facility and guarantee evaluation, client management, industry and country analysis, financial and cash flow analysis, and risk ratings.
- Recommend extending or declining facility requests, or propose additional security/deal structuring to safeguard the Group’s interests.
- Coordinate with business unit Relationship Managers for timely receipt of customer documents and information required for creditworthiness evaluation.
- Ensure all credit approvals meet overall policy guidelines and QCB regulations, stipulating terms and conditions to mitigate credit risk.
- Assist in creating Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the department and monitor their achievement periodically.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal departments, ensuring adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Turn Around Times (TAT).
- Provide timely and accurate information to external and internal auditors and the Compliance function as required.
- Contribute to improving the overall Group credit portfolio by instilling credit risk best practices and addressing identified weaknesses.
- Lead improvement initiatives through cross-functional teams and encourage innovative practices within the team.
Qualifications and Experience
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in a major bank, with at least 2 years specifically within a risk function.
- Professional certifications such as PRM, CPA, or CFA are preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of business processes and controls in all related credit and operational areas.
- Comprehensive understanding of all pertinent regulations and best practices pertaining to overall credit operations.

Compliance and Professional Standards
The incumbent must ensure full compliance with all applicable legal, regulatory, and internal compliance requirements, including Group Compliance Policies and Procedures (*, AML & CTF, Sanctions Policy, Data Protection Policy, Fraud Control Policy). This role requires understanding and effectively performing duties under the Three Lines of Defence principle for risk management, ensuring systematic good outcomes for clients in accordance with Conduct Risk policy. Maintaining high standards of data protection and confidentiality for commercially sensitive information, and upholding QNB's reputation and market leadership position through professional conduct, are paramount.
