About the Role

Riymar is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time role involves managing project costs, from initial estimates and tendering processes to ongoing expense tracking and risk analysis. The successful candidate will play a crucial part in ensuring financial oversight and efficiency across projects.

Role Overview

The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for preparing and reviewing Bills of Quantities (BOQ), estimates, and overall project costs. This position also encompasses the management of the tendering process, including document preparation, offer analysis, and negotiation with suppliers and contractors. A key aspect of the role is to monitor project expenses against approved budgets and identify potential deviations or savings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review Bills of Quantities (BOQ), estimates, and project costs.
  • Prepare and issue tender documents and requests for quotations (RFQs).
  • Manage and coordinate the tendering process, including comparing and analyzing technical and commercial offers.
  • Study and analyze market prices for materials and finishing works.
  • Follow up with suppliers and contractors and negotiate terms.
  • Identify, analyze, and monitor commercial and contractual project risks, providing recommendations for mitigation.
  • Track project costs against approved budgets and flag deviations or savings opportunities.

Core Duties

  • Read and analyze drawings and plans to understand their impact on quantities and costs.
  • Prepare and review Bills of Quantities (BOQ), estimates, and project costs.
  • Prepare and issue tender documents and requests for quotations (RFQs).
  • Manage and coordinate the tendering process, and compare and analyze technical and commercial offers.
  • Study and analyze market prices for materials and finishing works.
  • Follow up with suppliers and contractors and negotiate with them.
  • Identify, analyze, and monitor commercial and contractual project risks, and provide recommendations.
  • Track project costs against approved budgets and flag deviations or savings opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in quantity surveying or a related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and review BOQs, estimates, and project costs.
  • Experience in managing tendering processes and analyzing commercial offers.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience interacting with suppliers and contractors.
  • Proficiency in identifying and mitigating commercial and contractual risks.
