The Opportunity

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Road Engineer Roads and Highway to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves supervising and managing road construction activities, ensuring projects adhere to specified quality standards and designs. The Road Engineer plays a crucial part in the successful execution of infrastructure projects within the region.

Key Responsibilities

The Road Engineer will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of road construction, including:

• Supervising daily road construction works, including excavation, subgrade preparation, Granular Sub-Base (GSB), sub-base layers, and asphalt paving.
• Reviewing engineering drawings and ensuring their correct implementation on site.
• Coordinating activities effectively with survey, Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC), and safety teams.
• Monitoring the quality of materials, efficiency of equipment usage, and production rates.
• Preparing and submitting daily progress reports, highlighting any technical issues encountered.
• Assisting in the planning and implementation of traffic management schemes and temporary diversions.
• Ensuring all construction activities comply with AASHTO, ASTM, and specific project standards and specifications.

Required Experience and Qualifications

Candidates for this position should possess the following:

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in road construction supervision and management.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise earthworks, pavement layers, drainage, utilities, and traffic diversions.
• Proficiency in reviewing technical drawings and ensuring site implementation accuracy.
• Familiarity with industry standards such as AASHTO and ASTM.
• Strong coordination, monitoring, and reporting skills.

Work Environment and Location

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role involves working on-site to supervise road construction activities and collaborate with various project teams.
